2026 Lady Vols Recruiting

So the #2 recruit Oliviyah Edwards not even on any of those. LAUGHABLE. Wouldnt give “The Sporting News” much credibility with that list
What high lights I've seen it's crazy... Someone have an axe to grind against the young lady. No way you can be taken seriously with leaving Edwards off any short list.

If it was one person's assessments, then I suppose that person sees something in Oliviyah's game they're not real impressed by. That's okay -- their opinion. I have actually said myself in the past that she still has some rough edges to smooth (like Jaida Civil), but she has more potential to be a superstar than anyone who has played at Tennessee since Candace Parker. Her potential to be an explosive force is obvious to my eye. Once she gets all her body and mind needs to grow at the college level, I feel like OE is going to be a dominating player.

That’s not the point. It’s a reason there’s a renowned All-American Game (McDonald’s All-American) showcase and it’s played on a nationwide platform.
Oliviyah Edwards is the no. 2 player in the nation via ESPN and will be on the top of that list of recruiting analysts which range from multiple committee members when that team is announced. Big Oh will be one of two or three superstars that will be marketed as the premier recruits of the McDonald’s AA game.
It’s not about just any list this is an attempt to get folks to nitpick as one or two here always do.
Everybody putting together a list isn’t credible and posting it doesn’t justify looking for some so called rough edges of any player’s game. Edwards is arguably the best athlete to come out of HS in years. As a basketball player, she is already a polished shooter and versatile low post scoring threat. She has no weaknesses in her game lets get that understood.
If so, you can do the same with Saniya Hall the no.1 player and someone could build a list that leaves her off.
Doesn’t make it credible.
Again, bringing this up was really silly in the first place but as usual people run with stuff like that when they have an agenda.

Wonder why we didn't offer Whitley Rogers number 49 player out of Arkansas. She is a really great player three point shooter 25 points and 7 rebounds per game. Did not sign early Shekinna Stricklen is her coach. Were missing out on this player to bad.

Not once heard of the player. Who said TN was recruiting this player Skim?
I doubt TN was involved with this player.

FWIW...

If anyone is like me, wondering what the difference between a "future" star and a "current preseason" pick might be... The Sporting News is evidently committed to the Growing Block Theory of time.
Seriously.

Eternalism (Block Universe): Einstein's relativity supports this view, treating time as a fourth dimension within a 4D spacetime block where all moments (past, present, future) coexist, making the future just as real as the past.

Presentism: The view that only the present moment is real; the past is gone, and the future hasn't happened yet, making time's flow central.

Growing Block Theory: A compromise where the past and present are real, but the future is not yet real, growing as time moves forward.

In this clip, Oliviyah Edwards is physically dominant compared to the competition, but it does show:

1. She shoots right, and hits a long three.
2. She looks amazingly comfortable, fluid, and shoots well going to her left.
3. She puts a kick-out assist right in the shooter's hands.

Impressive.

Found the video...I can't wait to see her play next season because lord have mercy 🔥

Well, posting only to temper our expectations for Oliviyah, the opposing players in that video were awfully small.
Yup. As I said above, she's physically dominant in this game. But she's not rebounding over the back of smaller players.. She's hitting a long three -- doesn't matter the size of the other team. (Well, okay, getting open. But players get open, and she's showing she can hit.) She repeatedly went to her left and looked like she could actually make controlled shots left-handed. Again, that's a physical skill that exists regardless of the size of the opponent. She drove to the middle and made a perfect pass to an open teammate at the three-point line. Again, a skill. What's hard to say from a clip like this is how often she can do these things, but given the pack of schools that were after her, I'd say these are fundamental skills. Add them to 6-3, athletic, and strong and...
