2025 Transfer Portal

100%! This is the squad.
Don’t care to hear all this stuff about adding this or that player… we’re set. Even if she adds one more.. it ain’t better than we got it right now!
Coach Caldwell can go on her summer vacation until the June track meet “summer workouts! Lambo edition” kicks off🍊.

Great news! Honestly I could be done now! Really like our group.

consider the opposition.

Well, it was one of 9 games all season that Kim Mulkey let her play more than half the game. The only power conference games in those 9 are vs MSST, vs Georgia, vs Texas, and vs NC State.

Her MSST and Georgia games had similarly good stats to this Louisiana game. (besides not having quite that many rebounds vs MSST)
vs. Texas, LSU didn't play well at all as a whole; Jersey had 2 blocks, a steal, and 3 rebounds.
vs NC State, 3 blocks, 4 rebounds (3 defensiv) and 3 points.

That's a terrible problem , it can be reoccouring in many cases. I wish her the best of luck.

Fun fact, irl I am an eye doctor. It’s one do the saddest things that comes into our clinic. More than 75% of the time the patient is functionally blind in the affected eye long term unless they get prompt treatment and the macula is unaffected.

Breaks my heart for a young athlete to go through that.

I remember the young lady at Baylor years and years ago who went blind after a freak injury but returned to play. She was an absolute dog. Can’t imagine competing at that level after vision changes.

I would love to land either of Iyana Moore (35% career from 3), or Ashton Judd (37% career from 3) both with good amount of volume. We know Judd is at least entertaining the possibility of here. which I would love. not sure if we have any traction with Moore. but outside of these two and Fulwiley, I couldn't really find any other obvious players I hope we add.
Moore is likely the better fit in spite of many here coveting Judd, a very good player in her own right. However, if you really look at the roster that is already built, Moore should be the better fit in this system. Jmo.

Spot on analysis!
Coach Caldwell said exactly what she would add via the portal as early as last November to December, and has executed it to perfection. She said weeks ago our portal class would fill a few remaining spots and she checked every box.
When you hear what she said following the Robertson and Barker signings, I’m sure she’ll give us a breakdown of what Wolf brings!
We don’t need another portal player.. if they come good. If not we still good.
GBO🍊.

So in your opinion is the subbing coming in if they’re doing all that defense nonstop for that duration period of time or is it just time based. Let’s say I barely had to do much running during that time period, do the players still come out?
CKC has said that if they aren't gassed when they come out, the coaches want to know why. They watch the players in practice and know how much each is capable of. CKC says they always make practices harder than the game. When we got later in the season, we saw some players staying in longer. CKC always said they earned in practice what they played the next game.

The coaches also have their plans for who plays together best against each week's matchups on the floor. But mostly she was (and will) be developing players who are mix-and-match, plug-and-play, and able to play positionless unless there's just some unusual matchup that demands different.

Out of respect for Freak and his judgement, I acknowledge that him deleting the previous page of texts was entirely the correct decision. Everyone already knows what is what anyway. Peace all.

Chucky, we are both still good looking studs😉 Man, that’s some **** right there, a get out of jail free card anytime the topic gets real reference one poster. It’s not to the level of HuskyNan though, and we can all be thankful for that.

Regarding past 3-point shooting percentages...

Just a reminder that it makes a huge difference when you know your coach has given you the green light and wants you to take open 3s. Shooting with 100% assurance removes all sorts of small muscle tightness in the release.

More importantly, knowing you're expected to take 3s makes a world of difference in your practice shooting! I bet by tomorrow afternoon, there will be player-to-player challenges to shoot x-number of shots each day before arriving on campus this summer.

One of the benefits of this UT system, freedom to shoot. Makes the shooters better over time. Most teams penalize shooters from freely shooting, and it has to impact their confidence.

If I were a coach in the free transfer era, I think I'd always leave one roster spot open -- just in case.

You are not wrong. A great idea honestly.

I really like the makeup of the current roster. We have a plethora of options, speed, defense, size, and versatility. The only reason I could see adding anyone else is if a knock down three point shooter wanted to name her first born Patricia Head.

I just wish I could do something to help but prolly ought to just steer clear when it flares up, like shingles.

Impossible to change the true disingenous character of said poster. Not impossible for me to avoid it all, so there lies the answer Chuck.

I just had my second shingles shot…..

you know we haven't talked about toughness a lot. just want to note that our players on the roster season could give us the toughest overall LV team we've had in YEARS. the portal pick ups and incoming recruits are ice cold. love it.
Omg… haven’t been to the sweat box in forty years, but head gear, boxing gloves and mouth pieces? Talk about finding out who the dawgs are… 🤣🤣🤣

Gives the Marine Corps training regime a whole new twist!

I think the makeup of the team for Tenn next year has huge upside. I say that for two reasons, obviously the athleticism and talent has been upgraded in a major way in one year. But perhaps more importantly is the leadership of that team, CKC is a serious coach, very serious about her craft. She has the it factor, like a boss. Everyone sees it, she isn’t playing around. She doesn’t need to reach out to any wannabe coach posters trying to squeeze into the team dynamics the past 12 years. She has this.
