Know this is not men's portal but looks like Barnes is lining up another five star guard out of UConn. Tennessee teams are on the move.Tells me Barnes gets what Barnes wants if it comes down to money. I think Coach Kim has quite enough as well. I'm sure that freshman class was not cheap nor will be the next one. The fact that they are getting seniors tells me they think they are in good shape with some freshmen prospects in 2026.
I really hate this. I want to get Fulwiley out of the SEC. If LSU gets Serah and her, they could potentially have the best team that they have had under Kim. I love that we are getting better, but the ones ahead of us need to stop leaping forward too. She’s going to LSU. Other schools have been told without being told.
Big loss for Texas, but who knows since she barely played due to injury. They going to hate losing her. Big loss for the Longhorns. She was injured last season, but would've been huge for them.
Matchups and foul trouble will get the minutes distributed as well. That's a lot of players to keep happy and all of them look good enough to get playing time. The freshman will probably start off with the fewest. But the early non conference games is where the freshman may get there most time.I think were probably through with the portal depending on what Judd does. I'm sure they will be waiting on her decision which is probably into May. Really think we've covered all the bases. You can only play five at a time. I feel really good about all fourteen so now how them minutes going to be allotted. We could go into a two minute drill with five players in every two minutes if Judd committs here. That comes out to 13.33 minutes per player with five players needing to play one more second. 14 players you can get that up to 14.29 minutes a player. I could see it being more like five getting 22 a game and another five in at 14 a game and the last four about five minutes each.
I think it is safer to say we'll probably end of playing 11 or 12 most of the minutes and two to three very little.
Totally excited though we have extreme depth and not just a player all have tremendous athletic ability and talent. Looking forward to this season more than I have any season in a long time.
As a player, if you've ever experienced being able to play your absolute hardest every second, offense and defense, contesting everything--without playing against the clock from behind... you discover that there's game in you that's never been tapped. It is a liberating, almost out-of-body experience. You never realize how much "rest" you've built into your game, in which you're contributing nothing else of value, that's hidden in the ebb and flow of normal basketball or soccer.I think were probably through with the portal depending on what Judd does. I‘m going to leave my personal experience of playing a full court pressing style the entire game in AAU, so my question is, do u think players can stay out there longer while playing the system or do u think they can’t play longer than 90 seconds without rest?As a player, if you've ever experienced being able to play your absolute hardest every second, offense and defense, contesting everything--without playing against the clock from behind... you discover that there's game in you that's never been tapped. But I've never played with anyone who could do it for more than a 2 minutes straight. Not even those wiry little guys who run X-country!
With this system, I think we are going to be able to attract the players we really want, as long as they're not afraid to play differently.
(...or feeling the need to play for the biggest available money. We're all feeling cynical, but you can't sneer at being able to change your family's future, or erase its past, at age 18.)
90-120 seconds with zero stop in the action will begin to yield a falloff in some aspect.I‘m going to leave my personal experience of playing a full court pressing style the entire game in AAU, so my question is, do u think players can stay out there longer while playing the system or do u think they can’t play longer than 90 seconds without rest?
I checked in on that thread.Know this is not men's portal but looks like Barnes is lining up another five star guard out of UConn. Tennessee teams are on the move.
So in your opinion is the subbing coming in if they’re doing all that defense nonstop for that duration period of time or is it just time based. Let’s say I barely had to do much running during that time period, do the players still come out?90-120 seconds with zero stop in the action will begin to yield a falloff in some aspect.
People can run wind sprints for a much longer time than constant, focused defense, challenging every dribble, trying to force a turnover rather than just defend territory or use clock.
My guess it's all the small muscles you use playing that way. But whatever CKC says about it after running it for now 9 years is what counts.
