2025 Transfer Portal

TN won't be scared of any of these teams next season. They nearly beat ALL of them this year. Adding new players and skill sets will only make their confidence even stronger. We finish top 3 in SEC.
I believe the Ladies went into every game expecting to win. As we could have beaten any of these teams this year. The deal is I believe SC , LSU and Texas all got better as well , couple other teams like Vandy and Ole Miss will be a fight. GLV 💥

When the LVs do a line shift with a 5 set of fresh legs, speed will not be lost, like this past season.

I love this picture of the LVs next year!!

You increase the value of 3P attempts much more effectively by increasing the rate that you rebound the misses, than in the 3P rate itself.
Quantity not quality. The heart of this offensive system. Working harder, not smarter. Who needs efficiency when you can bust your tail to work around it?

An interesting twist on this is Lynne Roberts, Rickea"s new coach, who wants quantity AND quality. Loves 3 chunking, hates midrange (oops poor Rickea) but still demands efficiency. Very tightly prescribes whats a good 3 attempt and for who. Interesting to see how this works out

Glad this is the last day to get in the portal. Some talk about another big name entering today. Have to see if that comes true. Judd still no commit. Big to visit who is It? Still a lot to find out has been really great thus far.
Off-season certainly more entertaining than it used to be.

Damn it must be pure hell for coaches though. Makes them earn their big bucks. Media faves like Ivey and Cori Close get called right out
by the portal.

Judd apparently doesn’t want to announce until mid-may so won’t be hearing anything there for a few weeks.

There are for sure going to be a couple last second surprises. Has been every year.

It's about what's efficient on a per-possession basis. Increasing your shots-per-possession naturally increases your PPP. Can't do it without rebounding, and hopefully nation-leading offensive rebounding at that.

But could render it all unnecessary by simply taking, and making, good shots.

 (guess being pro-rebounding is the same as being against making shots)

I understand that simplicity is not cool right now.

VB09....The month of May seems so far away when the gales of the portal came in April....However, Judd appears to be the type of shooter that would prosper playing with so many fleet of foot supporting players....

Coach Kim wants lots of deep three balls.....It seems so natural.

If you prioritize and emphasize it as a work around,, and recruit for it more than for offensive movement and shot making, then yeah it is.

Speaking of shot making, any word on Kneepkens?

You made a valid point.
Nothing else left to say.

I'm afraid i'm of a different mindset.. I want my athletes to bring glory to my team not to themselves. In waiting to announce.... others who might make a decision to join her and her new home.... will also wait And in that time of waiting could be lost

I got in trouble for this same philosophy with Rickea..., but look at the results

Bullsh@t, but so in character for you.

Rickea's success here was in spite of, not because of, your blatant interference and trolling of her. Fortunately, she and her Mom had been at this for a while, are sharp cookies and knew who to ignore or laugh off.

Accusing transfers of delay for self glory and transferring only for the bag is easy but dumb. You don't know the circumstances. In some cases, schools may ask players to wait to announce so they can have a little chat with some players they just recruited over.

Recruiting well turns most of our quantity shooting into quality shots. Our coaching staff have done very well at recruiting so far. We have improved overall, without stepping onto the floor.

I agree, our competition has improved as well. We're competitive and can hang with the top teams in the nation again!

Our length, defense, quickness, toughness, athleticism, decision making, potential, shooting, rebounding, and so on improves immediately. I trust our LV's & coaches will get this group looking like a well oiled machine rather early.

Go Lady Vols!

On Monday, 24 March, Dayana Mendes produced a near-Double-Double - nine points, eleven rebounds - in this year's WNIT. Just two days later she was in the Transfer Portal. That's all good and well, of course; however, Danaya's team, Washington State, actually won that game over Utah Valley, advancing the Cougars to the next round against North Dakota State University. After being tied at the end of three quarters WSU lost to the Bison by eight.

At first glimpse, and likely owing to her European background, Mendes might appear a bit unorthodox. Upon further review, however, it's obvious why WSU Coach Camille Ethridge stated that the Parisian phenom could become the best player in Cougars' history. And, they've had some good ones: Jeanne Eggart Helfer, Jenni Ruff, and Borislava Hristova, who broke Eggart Helfer's career scoring record. So, certainly high praise from Kammi Ethridge.

What any of this might have to do with US, I wouldn't know. And, her sudden departure might seem eerily familiar to Tennessee fans. But, this red shirt sophomore-to-be is a special talent.

Thanks for this outlook! Will be another fun season of discovery and growth. Almost as much unknown as last year with so many new players on the roster. Should be a big help that the coaching staff is now settled in and has last season to reference.

Thing I didn't see coming is HOW freaking much better others were going to get. The SEC talent pool is insane.

Very athetic player just needs playing time already a good player. She would be exceptional in Coach Kims system with her abilty to play inside and take the ball full court on the dribble. Speed and athelticism is what you get right now.

Blah Blah Blah
feel better

You have NO knowledge of any interactions I had with Rickea, nor her family
Ih fact you have NO knowledge of any interactions I have with any of the players, family, coaches, contacts,fans...You are just my personal troll-fan,,,and one I can do without

A lot of people seem to think she is going to USC. She just changed her profile location to LA too. Only speculation so far so take that with a grain of salt.
