2025 Transfer Portal

100%. Talaysia Cooper was a great example. Same with Alyssa Latham. Jaida Civil and Deniya Prawl have long arms and exceptional wing span at their height. This team will cause havoc with these players in the full court press.

Height is great but wingspan means more IMO. A tall girl with short arms for her body size/type is a negative. ZZ on the men's team was 5'9" but had wingspan of 6' that's why he was one of the best
defenders in SEC and got so many steals. I would say Cooper has above average long quick arms she made so many quick steals off guard dribbles. There is more to than putting tape up and saying yeah, we filled that 6'4" gap and added a 6' 3" well if their slow like Oldacre they would sit on the bench, she scored 0 points and 2 rebounds in 2 games vs UT. If we cannot get a big that can run the court, I'd pass. I'm like you roll with the size we have unless a 6'2" or > that can run and defend for 94 feet is there for the taking. No lumbering bigs we had that to a degree this year.

She said looking for 10 points correct but I believe we are all looking at it from offensive instead of say 5 points better on D so getting right player who can generate extra turnover and couple extra stops is just as important. Good post just adding to it. In CHRIST Alone
No she actually said she wanted to average 97 instead of 87. I’m with you though on defense giving up 5 less and offense adding 5 seems like a better goal.

IMO it's a wash but as a coach when you're selling a program to recruits. You sell offense and you win with defense turnovers to offense, CKC is smart, and she knows what Shes saying. She knows exactly what she said.

Actually they aren’t making it complicated because it’s unserious to consider this 2024-2025 team as lacking height with the 11 players currently projected on the roster.
This forum has a group of fans no matter what they paint some sort of false perception of the LVs WBB team no matter what. It happens year after year. They want a perfect team in their mind which no WBB in the country is ever meeting that standard.
This is what they do and nowhere else on the internet is this 100% replicated.
We have scholarships for CKC to sign players that she need to fill spots, make the team better, and fit her system.
You don't think some posters are making this too complicated? lol we can politely agree to disagree then.

Correct me if I am wrong but I was thinking that NCAA rules state that a player cannot play or practice a sport (volleyball in Hurst's case) with a season before the sport their scholarship is in (basketball in Hurst's case). This would mean that she would have to concentrate solely on basketball until next year when she would assumably switch to a volleyball scholarship and be able to participate in both.

Has anyone here mentioned Quadence Samuel's out of Uconn here. She's a nice player that is going to help a team wherever she goes. 6 foot long and athletic. Due to the return of Azzi Fudd, she moved down the depth chart this past season and didnt get minutes this year, but looked pretty good as a freshman. Only averaged about 12 minutes a game as a frosh, and scored 5 pt's per game and almost 3 rebounds on 40% fg 35% 3pfg. She would be a good fit and more importantly has 3 younger sisters that play basketball with the next one coming in 2027 and ranked 9th in her class. I know we recruited this one pretty hard along with Ashlyn Shade a couple years ago.
