2025 Transfer Portal

There is no overlap. The current scholarships for graduating and transfer players go through the end of the spring semester. The new scholarships for next year‘s roster become available with the start of summer semester. There is no overlap.
Setting aside the "local girl" aspect, I think Mudcat's primary point is that Miss Rowe's situation is particularly troubling due to the PT major, that seldom, if ever allows someone to leave one institution, then pick up "right where she left off" at another. So, while she's welcome to stay at Kentucky, in order to do so she now has to foot the bill. It's a logistics/business decision for the Coach; it's a devastating blow to the student-athlete ...with the added (and sentimental) dimension that her decreased minutes and production on the court are primarily due to the injuries sustained while "giving her all for the Big Blue."
There is not enough lipstick for this pig.

Just to add: I believe that The Great One had a couple-few who had to retire; and predictably, she found a way to keep them on scholarship. In fact, wasn't this the case for Andrea Carter?

New semester starts June 16 so new players in and old players out. Even if you don't graduate your eligibility has ended. We will have the following players with ended eligibiltiy or not being renewed for next semester. Spear, Spencer, Darby, Adoyele, Puckett, Wells, Hollingsnead, and Strickland transfer.

Players retained as of this time Spearman, Cooper, Boyd, Whitehorn, Latham, Wynn, and Darby. Openings for players to begin June 16th would be eight. Coming in right now Mia Pauldo, Mya Pauldo, Deniya Prawl, Jaida Civic, Lauren Hurst. Openings still available at this time to come in June 16th three,
Whew… thank you…again, for the clarification.

What’s the over under on hours till someone asks again? 🤣🤙🏼

If you medically retire from the sport, then you remain on scholarship and it does not count against the limit for your sport. It’s an NCAA rule, not a school decision. But a player has to voluntarily medically retire, and there has to be supporting medical documentation to back that up.

Who from the from South Carolina hits the portal now? I think they be a few but don’t know who.
This is the first time I ever felt Fulwiley might transfer. According to espn interview in the locker room she said something like she has to sit down and decide what's best for her. Thought it was a little odd on a question about what they need to work on for next year. And I am not trying to stir up any Gamecock fans at all.

That was strange. May be the preportal announcement to work for a sweeter NIL deal. 💰

Tennessee will soon be part of the transfer portal news over the next month. In the meantime, during the National Championship I think it was a defining moment to hear the conversation focus on the resurgence of Tennessee based on comments from Coach Geno referencing his teams defeat on Rocky Top! The Lady Vols in year 1 of the Coach Caldwell era arguably the best young coach in WBB and again one of elite programs as a Top 10 team heading into the 2025-2026 season according to ESPN Power Rankings at #8.
GBO ‘solid’!

I understand this is a dead period for recruiting, but can't remember if that works both ways. I know recruiters can't reach out to players during a dead period, but can a player (or their family/handlers) reach out to a coaching staff?

Also, are commitment announcements allowed during dead periods?

I'm so excited to start hearing where some of the many players in the portal are headed. I can't remember now how long it took last season for things to get rolling.

Thanks!
