I think it’s more to do with the subbing patterns, if it was normal I think we would be a destination. Now that it’s been seen live now players just may not want to be part of that. But we will be able to fill the roster spots because after the top schools take all the best players, u will have some left over that will come to us. It will be interesting to see how recruiting goes in the 2026 class.

Remember, not everyone can play in this system. Lady Vols looking for those 3 that fill the needs such as long lanky and athletic. I am confident they will find those 3-4 players.

I don't think either of you are correct in your assumptions. Is there any empirical evidence saying players are not picking Tennessee because of substitution patterns? How does one sign a top 2 team if all they're taking is leftovers?

I’m not saying nobody will come, I’m saying the top players want mins and to stay in the game, role player type players are more willing to do that. Let’s see the quality of players we get now that everyone has seen the system.

Her parents wouldn't let her play this year. She reclassified to get a start on NIL with some combo deals with her sister. Had a minor injury that was rehabbed and cleared before December. They certainly could have used her. Ongoing disagreement led to a breakup with Finley.

As long as we're dealing in generalizations...

What portal prospects and potential high school recruits always say they want:

A chance to play for championships.

A coach who can work them hard and make them better.

A team that gets crowd and administration support.

A family atmosphere.

A program with a great tradition.

A team that plays “their style.”

What they often really want:

More NIL $$$

More playing time.

A glide path to the WNBA.

Teammates that look and talk like them.

To be their new team's star player.

Opportunity for media attention.

A coach that appreciates their skills and value.

A coach that will let them play like they want and do what they want.

Didn't take long after a Sweet 16 season for people to jump off the bandwagon because we didn't immediately overpay for players that I said two weeks ago that weren't coming here anyway?

We mustn’t rely too much on “rumors.” Until I see an official posting by TN, or by the player themselves, we have no other option but to wait. We have to remember, CKC isn’t looking for a star player under her playing system. She’s looking for a team player who is going to fit her style of play and system. If it so happens to be a “star” player, then so be it. She’s looking for contributors, not a single star to jack up 25 shots a game.
