I still have questions about how well he'll translate going from D2 to the SEC... it's one thing to pull a guy like Johni Broome from Morehead State, it's another to go from playing the likes of Tusculum and Carson-Newman to playing Kentucky, Duke, Tennessee, etc.

We wanted Freeman but at end of day he was in division 2. No guarantee he is anything great. He was not expected to start here.

Totally agree. Auburn going to have a hard fall from where they were. Pope and Cats backed off Freeman. He is still project.

Up the offer for Rice and reel in Ament and Chiakin. If we had 1 million on Freeman that could easily go towards upping offer on Rice and Chiakin. We are solid with our size right now if we can get Ament. JP and Phillips will both improve.

We don't know that Freeman CHOSE Auburn over Tennessee. He nor Ament wanted to be on the same team. If CRB told him Ament has committed, o course he would not join.

This ensures Ament will not be moved to PF in Knoxville. He now solidly has the SF position in if he chooses Orange.

If we get Rice and Ament, it’s still a good haul. If we only get Ament, we’ve got to find some good veteran talent around him at 2 guard. Asking him to be the only threat at 2/3 is not setting him or us up for success.

I do think Gainey and ZZ can still be options as well. Chiakin is really good shooter and should be a priority even with a Rice.

I would take some of Freeman’s money and give it to Rice now. Who cares if it’s an “overpay” it’s late in the game now and we need that one. Gillespie/Rice/Ament would be great.

Kids are allowed to pick other schools. We have no idea what Auburn offered (playing time, $$, etc)

Well, RJ Lewis is visiting Auburn who is a SF and would probably start if he goes there. They already signed the SF out of UCF who was the Big 12 leading scorer if I'm not mistaken. None of that stopped Freeman from choosing Auburn. We really are going off of speculation at this point. Still hoping Ament comes.
