My conspiracy brain believes that the NCAA is intentionally letting this wild west anarcho-capitalist version play itself out until fans are literally begging for the NCAA to save it and enable them to get away with murder in whatever structure they do implement

I could see that. NCAA for sure sees themselves as the victim not the villain.

Baker-Mazara is good but he also has issues. Remember the several technicals he got this past season for retaliations. Not sure he would fit in Barnes world.

I absolutely DON’T WANT Mazara, but his poor behavior likely reflects the lack of behavior expectations in the Auburn program. If he were to play under a coach like Barnes, his behavior would probably be reigned in significantly.
