You honestly think conditioning will be a problem on a CRB coached team when Carey knows exactly what we are all about and he chose to come here?Yessssirrrr
Having Gill, Rice and Ament on the floor will open up everything and will give Carey plenty of opportunities.
Only worry about Carey is his conditioning. That’s the only reason I’ve said come off the bench. If he can get that right, then I’m all for him starting…he’s a bulldog
I loved that team and it was clear that those two PGs worked well together and made each other better imo. It’s also not like Barnes doesn’t have tape to prove a 2 PG system can work. He just has to point to the Chandler/Ziegler team that won a SEC tournament title and grabbed a 3-seed (should have been a 2-seed).
Sexist post. All of the Freeman collapse was last night, cleverly after eod on a holiday. Auburn is a much higher offer and we typically don’t re-enter those games. Don’t know if it can be saved. Maybe. Rice is also tenuous as I said Thursday. His personal communication with us is ongoing, but Willard continues to drag his agent. The Ament thing is only holding because we promised him his moment. We need to all appreciate that he’s the highest modern recruit we’ve signed and has freaky length for a 3. It’s a huge get. I continue to believe we’ll put together a great roster top to bottom, knowing that there are unanswered questions. One odd variable is that there is a threatened class action suit from the 25 class to pursue damages if they are excluded from the fifth year. Remember that the pool of possibilities there is not just ZZ and Gainey, but players from other schools. Many teams are holding space and money based on this. Look for Basilio to have a new position on all these matters following this post. Legion of Poon will update us in the morning.
We making moves? @Stoerner Fumblesyeah, would be interesting if we tap back in
Would be a bitter pill to swallow seeing ZZ elsewhere…Yeah, I know he may not have a choice. So, that’s why I said I know it may be a foul take or an unpopular opinion. But if he chooses to come back for one year rather than go pro and he isn’t playing at Tennessee, I would just struggle to get over it. He wouldn’t have finished his career here. He would belong to another fanbase and it would just feel gross. He’s one of the last few “VFLs”. I couldn’t stomach it if he finished his career elsewhere.
Thanks for all the updates. They are appreciated!Barnes told all the Seniors to proceed with their lives as though the rule won’t change. So far, Gainey and ZZ have not. I think their belief is that a single NIL deal would top a European deal by a good amount. As far as Gillespie goes, you don’t have that conversation unless it becomes reality. It sure would be weird to see ZZ play somewhere else, but he’d definitely be a desired piece on a team. I know both St. Johns and Nova have contacted him. Whatever Mashack does next probably won’t be here. As I’ve said before, the highest odds returner is Gainey.
I wouldn't be so sure...the NCAA has been eviscerated ever since the SCOTUS ravaged them for overseeing an illegal enterprise for decades
Same problem with Wimby imo....that dude should be 60%+ shooter with his length and agility. Settles for too many jump shotsI think that’s right. He pulls up a lot and has an incredible turnaround fadeaway, but can’t get a step on the drive sometimes and needs to grow there. A kid with that height should be able to score or get to the line pretty frequently.
