Agreed. I don’t understand how he’s been in the portal this long and we haven’t had the kid at least on campus. Something isn’t adding up like you said

We never seem aggressive enough. We shouldn’t have to wait for Rodney Rice to get the process going with Freeman for example. Just is very odd and annoying

Estrella is hurt and Carey is undersized so they’re both dice rolls. But both have skill and potential. We will see how it pans out.

We’ve made back to back elite eights with less of a post threat than either one of them. So I guess my answer is a cautious yes? I think there’s a very good chance we are better in the post this year than we’ve been in a few years.

But we need more guards. Again, right now we have Gillespie and…?

Looks like the money issue has become public, Nico is wanting a new deal... My NIL guy said their was something messing with the projections right now.

I would assume that was Nico.

Freeman has been on campus, just not a official visit. I heard he went to a game earlier this year.

That’s a made up story. Several major programs are interested in Freeman, including us. He just signed an agent and attorney. He’s starting visits. Obviously we’re trying to get him on campus.

Probably not great that a school 6 hours away gets the first crack at trying to close the deal rather than a school 1 hour away…JMO

I’ve still got connections at LMU I could ask. But man, it’d be awkward.

“Hey I know we’ve haven’t spoke in years, but what can you tell me about the Freeman kid? He going to UT?” 😅

The recent trickle of news last 48 hours seems to indicate that Providence is leading UK and Tennessee for Alvaro. We (UK) have been on a roll but are still searching for a standout shooter at the 2 or 3. We also may be looking for another big man (hence, Alvaro). The issue is that there is a big unknown around Brandon Garrison. Lots of chatter that he may jump in the portal due to the JQ landing. If that happens, we definitely need at least 1 more big, if not 2.

What does that mean for your team? Not sure... but Providence seems to be a nudge ahead of both of us for Alvaro. Why? No idea... don't get the appeal there in terms of location or basketball style. Unless it's pure $$$.
