Gotcha.

Although that’s not really Tennessee’s current mentality. It’s more, football matters most, but other sports definitely matter. And that’s the right approach.

Wait, so Ament has been the stretch 4 option and it wasn’t a priority? I choose to believe things have been happening behind the scenes and that’s why chatter has been minimal about potential 4 man portal prospects.

One question then I'll hang up. Does anyone know if this 5th-year stuff would actually apply to the guys on this past year's team if it were to pass? Even if it does pass, are there any details that suggests there's a possibility for ZZ and Gainey?

I know that NIL is not funded by the school, but the school and the collective share donors. If someone makes a big donation to one or the other, they may have less to give to the other one. Someone else pointed out in here that this probably affects capital improvements more than a coach’s salary. I don’t know how UT allocates every specific dollar, from TV revenue to ticket sales to donations, etc., but hypothetically, if someone had been giving $5 million annually to the AD, and then the collective is created and they decide to give the collective $3 million, they may not be able to still give the AD $5 million.

There's currently no timeline on the ruling and we know nothing about when it will pass if it even passes at all. If it does pass in time, I would assume it would mean that ZZ, Shack, and Gainey would get another year of eligibility, but that's just what I've gathered got no clue if it's true or not.
