Uros literally got a flagrant 1 for throwing an elbow in the second half vs FAU in the Sweet 16 that buried us. They hit a three, Uros threw the elbow, they got two free throws and ball. We were down 4 when the sequence started and we never recovered.Neither of these compare to CBM. Don’t remember either of those guys being ejected for cheap shots, going for the back of players heads, etc. Come on now. You don’t wanna go this route. CBM is horrible.
From what I've seen he signed for 1.1 million then Auburn gave the transfer 2 million so he hit the portal. He supposedly has a buyout but at one time buyouts or anything that tied you to the school weren't legal. So not sure how true that part is.Word is CBM may have to return to Auburn, but don't know if Bruce would accept him back. Fans on Twitter are saying Auburn's NIL contracts are written up really well to protect Auburn and there are consequences when a student breaches the contract. They are saying CBM entered the transfer portal because he was jealous that the Big 12 leading scorer from UCF that Auburn signed had a higher NIL deal than he did. He tried to pull a Nico, but Auburn wouldn't succumb to his demands so he left. Word is his deal was $1.6M and the UCF transfer deal is $2M. He must pay Auburn $660K if he does sign with another school. This is information from Twitter and YouTube. I don't know if it is factual or just speculation.
He’s pushing 30 and less emotionally mature than the freshmen we’ll be bringing in. Absolutely unacceptable for someone who should be a vet leader on a team.
I’ll worry about CBM if he somehow ends up here.
I still think it’s a troll OR someone is trying improve his stock by floating our name.
I agree— he’d be a bench piece for you guys but would solve a lot of problems for what you need. He wouldn’t need to run point and you run a lot of screens for shooters, and he’d have good defenders around him to help on defense. Plus there’s a long history of KY shooters going to Tennessee and coming back to put a knife in our heart LOLI wouldn’t be against adding Perry at all, but not as a starter at the 2. A guy that gets 10-15 minutes the first year, sure. Unless he just goes off early and looks Lofton/Lanier/Knecht style
Well he's gonna be a Rebel so it's mootI agree— he’d be a bench piece for you guys but would solve a lot of problems for what you need. Perry's defense looked particularly bad last year.I'm going to agree with most all of what you said. I've said much of the same myself. If you saw him play in high school, you know he can play. I've watched him. And you're right, what was asked of him this year did him no favors. You look at him and you don't see an ounce of athleticism at first glance, but then you ask him to play and guard the most athletic position on the floor for most teams.
If Tennessee fans want a proper UT comparison, he's a better version of Skyler McBee. Like McBee, I was a little surprised the home state school took him sue to the limited athleticism, though I believe McBee walked on his first year. The role McBee played for Tennessee, or Lee Humphrey originally played at Florida is a good comparison for what Perry is best suited for. Perry can succeed in certain systems where they create open looks for him as a spot-up shooter, but asking him to play PG and or create his own shot is not what his athleticism allows him to do best.
Our defense was awful for 3/4 of the season. He will look much more average on D at Ole Miss, guarantee it.Perry's defense looked particularly bad last year.
I doubt Barnes would give him much consideration at all.
That might just be because Kentucky didn't really stress D (from the looks of it they didn't train too much in that department) last year, but IMO it wouldn't remotely be worth the gamble.
I wouldn't say worse, we didn't have time to recover from that play by him since it was so late, Auburn led by 10 late vs Yale after 30 minutes without CBM. There are multiple reddit threads dedicated to Uros's thuggery with fans from most every major team we played that year, and some Tennessee fans, raking him over the coals for his not even close to basketball plays. It's a miracle he didn't a flagrant 2 for that elbow vs Goldin, I think Barnes sat him the rest of the game anyway. He just unprovoked blasted Goldin with an elbow that flattened him out and sent him flying.Even so,CBM worse
I'm a documented Uros critic as well, but I'd take him every day over that clown CBM.I wouldn't say worse, we didn't have time to recover from that play by him since it was so late, Auburn led by 10 late vs Yale after 30 minutes without CBM. I agree. I mean it's what I saw. I saw Perry get cooked quite a bit. When Kentucky did play decent D I noticed it was usually early and they couldn't sustain it. You guys really need to work on strength and conditioning in the off season. Our defense was awful for 3/4 of the season. He will look much more average on D at Ole Miss, guarantee it.
Not sure with that "buyout" rumor floating around, but I would for sure be happy to have both those guys here next year.Do we have budget for CBM and Adams? Our roster would be ridiculous adding those two with Gainey and ZZ possibly.
As has been stated, he wasn't put in position to succeed on either end of the floor and he played for a team whose system didn't emphasize strong defensive play. Rick Barnes would not ask him to guard opposing PGs and would emphasize that he improve on that end if he wanted to play.Perry's defense looked particularly bad last year.

Thus the point of my original post. Uros was our boneheaded/clown thug so he gets forgiveness. CBM played for someone the fans dislike, so he gets none.I'm a documented Uros critic as well, but I'd take him every day over that clown CBM.
I guess we just disagree. No worries, I respect your opinion on him. Personally, I just think we could do better with that last spot.As has been stated, he wasn't put in position to succeed on either end of the floor and he played for a team whose system didn't emphasize strong defensive play. Full disclosure, none of this is a ringing endorsement for us to rush out and grab him in the portal. I'm just saying I wouldn't mind it if we ended up using our last spot on him.
