It was an Auburn fan posting, but they said RJ Luis set up a visit and they are in touch with Andrej. I know he’s getting more money so he might not care, but that would take the starting spot away from Freeman unless they move someone to the 4, I would think. Also, Gainey seems very confident he’s coming back. I don’t think he participated in the “senior bowl” type events. He stayed on campus to help recruit and then the new TikTok that’s out there.

Uros literally got a flagrant 1 for throwing an elbow in the second half vs FAU in the Sweet 16 that buried us. They hit a three, Uros threw the elbow, they got two free throws and ball. We were down 4 when the sequence started and we never recovered.

From what I've seen he signed for 1.1 million then Auburn gave the transfer 2 million so he hit the portal. He supposedly has a buyout but at one time buyouts or anything that tied you to the school weren't legal. So not sure how true that part is.

Hell, ZZ threw a ball at Carey in the UT/Vandy game in Knoxville. Didn’t get ejected but certainly could have with a more sensitive ref. Some guys run a little hot, doesn’t make them irredeemable psychopaths

If he ends up here than Rick Barnes believes he will benefit us and that he believes he can control him. In short, if Barnes is fine with him, I would be.
That said, he's almost assuredly not playing here next year

I agree— he’d be a bench piece for you guys but would solve a lot of problems for what you need. He wouldn’t need to run point and you run a lot of screens for shooters, and he’d have good defenders around him to help on defense. Plus there’s a long history of KY shooters going to Tennessee and coming back to put a knife in our heart LOL

If Tennessee fans want a proper UT comparison, he's a better version of Skyler McBee. Like McBee, I was a little surprised the home state school took him sue to the limited athleticism, though I believe McBee walked on his first year. The role McBee played for Tennessee, or Lee Humphrey originally played at Florida is a good comparison for what Perry is best suited for. Perry can succeed in certain systems where they create open looks for him as a spot-up shooter, but asking him to play PG and or create his own shot is not what his athleticism allows him to do best.

Perry's defense looked particularly bad last year.
I doubt Barnes would give him much consideration at all.
That might just be because Kentucky didn't really stress D (from the looks of it they didn't train too much in that department) last year, but IMO it wouldn't remotely be worth the gamble.

Our defense was awful for 3/4 of the season. He will look much more average on D at Ole Miss, guarantee it.

I wouldn't say worse, we didn't have time to recover from that play by him since it was so late, Auburn led by 10 late vs Yale after 30 minutes without CBM. There are multiple reddit threads dedicated to Uros's thuggery with fans from most every major team we played that year, and some Tennessee fans, raking him over the coals for his not even close to basketball plays. It's a miracle he didn't a flagrant 2 for that elbow vs Goldin, I think Barnes sat him the rest of the game anyway. He just unprovoked blasted Goldin with an elbow that flattened him out and sent him flying.

I'm a documented Uros critic as well, but I'd take him every day over that clown CBM.

I agree. I mean it's what I saw. I saw Perry get cooked quite a bit. When Kentucky did play decent D I noticed it was usually early and they couldn't sustain it. You guys really need to work on strength and conditioning in the off season.

Not sure with that "buyout" rumor floating around, but I would for sure be happy to have both those guys here next year.
Barnes has a firm grip in regards to the identity of this team and I think if anything it would help out CBM to come here because Barnes most likely helps him in the character department.
IMO that is more likely than CBM turning everyone on the team into arrogant a-holes.

As has been stated, he wasn't put in position to succeed on either end of the floor and he played for a team whose system didn't emphasize strong defensive play. Rick Barnes would not ask him to guard opposing PGs and would emphasize that he improve on that end if he wanted to play.

Full disclosure, none of this is a ringing endorsement for us to rush out and grab him in the portal. I'm just saying I wouldn't mind it if we ended up using our last spot on him.

Thus the point of my original post. Uros was our boneheaded/clown thug so he gets forgiveness. CBM played for someone the fans dislike, so he gets none.

Do you remember Uros getting a dumb technical in the Arizona game that hurt us badly, and Barnes calling him out after the game for it. Saying he was tired of Uros's antics? Uros was a big story that whole season for his activity and he usually got extra ref focus that invariably hurt us almost every game. He had all the negatives of CBM with far less positives.

If Barnes wanted CBM here, I'd have no issue with him being here. He has many positives that we could use.

I guess we just disagree. No worries, I respect your opinion on him. Personally, I just think we could do better with that last spot.
