This one...View attachment 733784
His original announcement date was 4-1. I don’t think it’ll go past mid next week, but that’s a guess. Teams have to be telling him that he has to decide. Too much portal activity for him to sit on it much longer.@Stoerner Fumbles @bleedingTNorange realistically, how long do you think Tennessee is willing to wait on Ament? I apologize if this was previously discussed.
Directly conflicts with the report that the family didn’t like Louisville and Arkansas mostly communicating through agents and not answering their questions directlyThis one is pretty negative:
Nate Ament’s recruitment has remained interesting to track. The top uncommitted player in the 2025 recruiting cycle (No. 3 overall) has a top five of Kentucky, Arkansas, Duke, Louisville, and Tennessee.
The next big all-star-type event is the Nike Hoop Summit on April 12. While no date has been publicly announced, I did have a source tell me that they would not be surprised to see Ament commit around or just after this event. This recruitment has been fluid, but the three schools I continue to hear about for Ament are Duke, Louisville, and Arkansas.
While this recruitment was steady at the start, over the last couple of months, the leader would change depending on the source I talked with and the day I talked with them. Duke, as a program, has been recruiting Ament the longest, and he has been on that campus the most of his final group. Ament and those around him have a long-standing relationship with Louisville assistant coach Thomas Carr, and the Cardinals have carried some momentum since early in the process. And, despite coming in late, John Calipari has taken over the Arkansas recruitment personally.
While one source told me recently that they would currently give Duke the narrowest of margins in this one, it would not surprise me if he ended up at Louisville or Arkansas.
That sounds like old information, which in this recruitment might only mean 48 hours. This one is pretty negative:

I've seen enough of these to believe that it's going to be Duke. When there's one team consistently mentioned as the leader through all types of craziness, it's almost always them.Directly conflicts with the report that the family didn’t like Louisville and Arkansas mostly communicating through agents and not answering their questions directly. Duke being ahead or among the leaders is consistent though so maybe that’s the case

Only consistent thing is the Duke part which might be tough to overcome. End of the day it'll come down to prestige of Duke and sharing spotlight with all the other 5 star freshmen vs being potential highlight with volsThat sounds like old information, which in this recruitment might only mean 48 hours.
I don’t think you can wait much past this weekend unless you’re just getting really strong vibes he’s going to be a Vol@Stoerner Fumbles @bleedingTNorange realistically, how long do you think Tennessee is willing to wait on Ament? I apologize if this was previously discussed.
The money aspect Stokes would get, or a desire from Ament to want to play with him? Tennessee having Gillespie and Louisville having Markel Brown I would think all 3 of those are probably similarly attractive from a PG standpoint to Ament.Another rogue element is the possibility that Tyran Stokes reclassifies for this class. If so, Louisville or Duke might prioritize him. It’s strange how quickly he went from talking about his final AAU/HS season to canceling AAU and going silent. I assume money might move him up a year. This is not a discussion we’re currently in, but could affect Ament outcome. All speculation on my part. No source.
More money and bandwidth/roster focus. I’d rather play with developed mature PG, as you said. I just saw buzz last night that Stokes cancelled his AAU participation. Big names can draw time and attention, and sometimes that can shuffle the deck a little. I assume he has a clear offer (or two) if he’s going to reclassify. The money aspect Stokes would get, or a desire from Ament to want to play with him?
