2025 SEC Tournament

Starts at 1:00pm. All 4 games today are on the SEC Network.

#16 USC (12-19) versus #9 Ark (19-12)
Winner has Ole Miss and then that winner has Barn. I guess I don’t want an upset just in case the winner knocks off Ole Miss and Barn has a more difficult path. It would make me feel better about TN’s slow start last Saturday if USC doesn’t get blown out.

3:30pm
#13 Texas (17-14) versus #12 Vandy (20-11)
Winner has Texas A&M and then that winner plays TN on Friday. I think that I want Vandy out of the way. Texas might give A&M just as good of a challenge as VU.

#15 LSU (14-17) versus #10 Miss State (20-11)
Winner has Missouri then Florida. Miss State favored by 8.5. I don’t really care. I guess - Go Bully!

And I heard on ESPN this morning some saying Florida vs Duke in the NCAA finals.

To be honest I've only seen Florida twice this season. Are they that good?
They are really good. They've arguably got the best backcourt in the country, and when you combine that with Haugh and Condon in the post they are very formidable. They are a legit contender. They also could lose in the 2nd round like anyone else, so who knows?

And you didn’t even mention Handlogten or Chinyelu. It’s the combination of their 4 guards that can do everything and their stout frontcourt that goes 3-4 deep with size and length. Roster wise on paper, they are probably the best team in the country. And if they play to their potential, they can win it all.

Arkansas decide the game was over after the 1st half? Blowing a 17 point lead like that is crazy.

Ark 72
USC 68
Final

Cal limps into the matchup with Ole Miss tomorrow.

Arkansas was 13-13 FTs before missing a front end late. They went over 10 minutes without a FG.

Some really bad coaching in the last minute.

My favorite part was where I had already written off the game as over and then Arkansas turned it over for a quick deuce to put it back to a two point game with like three seconds left. All they needed to do was inbound it and get fouled, not... whatever that was.

Texas versus Vandy is on deck. That winner of this one or Texas A&M will be TN’s opener on Friday.

VU is a 2.5 point favorite.

That’s not uncommon with Cal. Ask that Memphis team that crapped the bed against Kansas in the NC game in the last two minutes. Just terrible coaching. Great salesman though.

😂😂😂 Cal just said “We never stop coaching.”…..Well at least until the last 2 minutes.

I liked the brain scientist move of trying to miss the free throw up 3 with 2.5 seconds left. And accidentally banking it in.

Oh Lawd. There goes Jay Bilas pumping up the SEC physicality bias like he did a few years ago when we pounded Duke.

“A foul in most leagues is not a foul in the SEC.”

I completely forgot to ask this but how in the heck did Hoggard end up at Vandy. I know he wasn’t an all star at MSU but somewhat surprised Vandy was his best choice to land at.
