Agree, but also believe Chavez has worked the system just right to the point where she will get the highest upfront bonus, whatever amount it is, to date. Some rumors are pointless and clearly false. I’ll go out on a limb and say the day this kind of deal was signed by a high school player an established college player at that school like Madison Booker would be getting 3.5 million if it ever cleared. It would annihilate the team morale. Some things aren’t rocket science. As I’ve stated, NIL is great for the players and college sports. Really doubt this player is setting that asking price.
I don’t know if that’s considered a lot, but I would like to know what Juju and Hidalgo got as freshman, Chavez is a tier 1 recruit and she should be paid according to that.
That’s just part of the game, players should get the most they can get if someone’s willing to pay.If any school gives her 1.5 million a season? They are starting something they can't finish and will start something where all the top ten players want a million or more. Women's basketball is never going to be a huge revenue sport even if you sell out every game. There has to be a salary cap installed by someone whomever has that power. Teams paying more to a player than the Coach, Assistants, or AD of the school makes.
And, regardless of what the little people on here say, 5’5” PGs can play. Anyone who says otherwise must not watch the girls/women’s game.11. Mia Pauldo©John Jones | For NJ Advance Media
Mia Pauldo, a 5'5" point guard from Morris Catholic High in New Jersey, has a grade of 97. Despite her smaller stature, Pauldo is an electrifying playmaker with excellent vision and ball-handling skills. Her ability to lead the offense and make plays in transition will make her a perfect fit for Tennessee.
I know people like to compare her to Hidalgo, so in your opinion do u think she can be a first team All-American her freshman season like Hidalgo?11. Mia Pauldo©John Jones | For NJ Advance Media

I don't see a world where she would have to play such a significant role like Hidalgo. Hidalgo played 36 minutes a game. We didn't have anyone play over 25 minutes a game this year in Kim's system.I know people like to compare her to Hidalgo, so in your opinion do u think she can be a first team All-American her freshman season like Hidalgo?
So u don’t think we will ever have a player that can be a first team All-American because they won’t have to carry a load or is that just for Mia, because people seem to think Sc a;ways has a stacked roster and they have had first team All-Americans.I don't see a world where she would have to play such a significant role like Hidalgo. Mia Pauldo may have a big role right away but she won't have to be our only point guard like Hidalgo had to be, since she'll be sharing time with Boyd, her twin, and potentially even Wynn and Cooper who can play point as needed.
I agree she probably play 25 and Boyd fifteen next season at that position. No way anyone is playing 36 on average in Kim's system. Spencer, Cooper, and a couple other pushed slightly over 30 in a game or two, but their average is still 25 or lower.I don't see a world where she would have to play such a significant role like Hidalgo. Fair point, when you're consistently a top 3-5 team like SC, voters seem to inevitably identify at least one player for the All-American teams. Aliyah Boston's numbers were way down her senior year, at 26 minutes a game, but she was still first team All-American.so u don’t think we will ever have a player that can be a first team All-American because they won’t have to carry a load or is that just for Mia, because people seem to think Sc a;ways has a stacked roster and they have had first team All-Americans.
You're right about a Boston, that was the year they robbed Reese even though she almost doubled Boston’s stats. Let’s hope we can be at the top of the standings so our players can get recognized.Fair point, when you're consistently a top 3-5 team like SC, voters seem to inevitably identify at least one player for the All-American teams. Hard to say...she has to play on the next level first...BUT, the potential is there![]()
That is a joke. Reese numbers were higher because they had to be higher. Reese didn't have someone to come off the bench to relieve her and Boston had Cardoso. If Boston played the minutes Reese played, then you might have some facts to back up your argument. They didn't rob her. Boston was just a better player. I know you don't deal in facts because they get in the way of what you 'want' to believe but the experts....you know the ones who played and follow basketball nonbiased voted Boston POY. I think were getting ready to turn the corner in talent looks like Tennessee is making a huge NIL investment for the future in womens basketball. We should be able to sign two or three top players every year. Hoping for a big portal as were looking for mobile post players maybe a 2-3 three point scorer. Those girls are winners. Really bodes well for our program
With the Wisconsin coach being fired, wondering if Serah Williams could be a good option and fit for a mobile post: Serah Williams Career Stats - NCAAW - ESPNI think were getting ready to turn the corner in talent looks like Tennessee is making a huge NIL investment for the future in womens basketball. If she gets in the portal would go after her strong. I was looking at her profile a couple of days ago. Hope she gets in she would be perfect for us.With the Wisconsin coach being fired, wondering if Serah Williams could be a good option and fit for a mobile post: Serah Williams Career Stats - NCAAW - ESPN
Boston was and will never be the better player, Reese came into the Sec and played a new position and put up historic numbers. Her number even went up during SEC play to 25/17 and still no award, she was also robbed of POY. but she won the most prestigious award anyway, Final Four Most Outstanding Player, have a nice day! That is a joke.
