Maybe he can’t but if he’s on the field he’s in a better position to hold the position coach accountable. JMO

Who plays SDE in the proposed scenarios?

My concern is if the injury bug bites us again. I'd still love to add two DTs and a SDE to the line plus another experienced CB in the secondary. But that's JMO.

Speculation that Hobbs may play that role but I’m hoping weathersby/dye are up to the task.

I think AP does know a lot, it's just not possible for anyone to keep up with accurate info about the portal.

Well I believe they (Indiana and Miami players) have an additional 2 weeks to jump in the portal. So we may see some hop in over the next 10 or so days.

Its an extra 5 days. January 24th is the cutoff

I am pretty sure that would be 99vawl who called the Pruitt firing and the Indiana strength coach a week before anyone knew he was hired. But continue on with your AP is king dialogue.

EricVol seems to know a bit about what he is talking about.

He does, although I must say the Volclub guys were seemingly unnecessarily vocal about certain things this portal cycle as well. Almost sour grapes as to the NIL being moved in house. Not so much Eric as the guy on discord. Although Eric was as well on social media.

No, not really. I just don’t understand the hate AP gets on here. He’s the best in the business when it comes to coverage of Tennessee football/football recruiting. Volquest blows the doors off 247 when it comes to coverage. Callahan gives his subscribers nothing.

If everybody on this site hates AP so much and doesn’t believe he knows anything then why do so many bring his info over here?

I see 4 seniors. Gilliam and Coleman did not have good seasons so I’m not excited about them. Better to have them than not have them though. Was hoping to bring in a proven playmaker at DT. We didn’t. I’m disappointed. Hope to be pleasantly surprised this fall.

That's why you didn't see as many Mac and FCS guys enter because they want that diploma.

Gilliam & Hobbs are pretty good starting DTs.

Just because we played 20 DTs or whatever a couple years ago doesn’t mean that’s the only way. I actually thought we took our best DTs off the field way too much in 24. But we had to keep all those guys happy and engaged.

I think bringing one more like the guy from Florida would be perfect. If not him, maybe somebody else. Not every position group is going to be stacked for now and the future. You may have to let young guys compete for playing time. We brought in staff to help with that.

We’re gonna be a lot better. Just accept it.
