That is no longer correct. Previously, yes. They had until May 1st to enter the portal, however the NCAA nipped that in the bud with this last set of portal changes. If a grad transfer isn't in the portal, they either must remain with their current team or possibly drop a level to D-II or lower. There simply is no longer a special allowance for graduates.Yes Grad transfer can enter portal after graduation so still more to come
When any kid who graduates in spring who has a year of eligibility left you can't stop them from transferring to any program that wants them. NCAA can't stop this. Now any one good enough to play at Tennessee there will be many takers offering good dollars for them so we will see. But to your point the ncaa is trying but losing at every turn. Always good conversation. Peace unto You.That is no longer correct. Previously, yes. That said, this may end up in the courts like everything else, so consider it fluid until put to the test.
The NCAA has, however, hence why I said it may have to be settled in court. The NCAA can't stop them from enrolling, but if they didn't enter during the portal window they won't be eligible based on the changes made. Whether or not that holds up to a court challenge remains to be seen because I'm fairly confident someone out there will be a graduate, expected to start where they were, lost their job, and will end up suing. I too was bamboozled by Peyton Lewis. If you think the VQ guys know ball, just think back to how every spring how they hype up certain players and said player never pans out.
I’m still mad at them for convincing me Jacquez jones was gonna be a stud receiver for us back around 2016 or 17.
And even going into last year ap was declaring Peyton as our next great back.
Those dudes don’t know.
