Seems worse to me to look at it that way. Struck out at the top of the QB list and ended up falling outside the top 100. Looks like we could have had better, more realistic contingencies.

We were in the market for a top starter, they got very expensive, we shot our shot.

Kicked the tires on a couple of seasoned starters but determined for the money they were asking we preferred our home grown product. It's that simple.

Sure we could have had any number of options but it didn't make sense money wise with what you already have on roster, so we got a depth piece to fill out our QB room.
