2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Yeah that's easy, save 2 million on a guy that led the SEC in passing with a tumor in his arm.

We know Joey is good here, add in that he would have a healthy arm, second year in the system, full offseason with the recievers and the team loves him.

Leavitt would still be an obvious homerun. Just hope he's healthy. Remember when all we wanted was a QB that could hit a deep ball? lol that was the standard and the rest took care of itself. Just need a dang defense.
My concern with Leavitt is health. What makes him really good is his legs. Foot injury with his skill set would concern me a bit. I still think it’s why he’s still available?

A nfl g league would fail and players would not get paid like we are seeing now. The branding and loyalty of CFB is what gives value and if they are not careful, they will lose it. That is why SF is right. The powers that be like commissioners and networks are scare of this.
Which is my subliminal point. Get this fix. The powers that be need to be scared right now because of a lack of boundaries and guardrails. To let the current status quo continue is criminal.
Who is going to fix it? who knows? Who knows what laws and restrictions should go into effect to get some normalcy.

The NCAA and powers that be keep putting bandaids on a sucking chest wound.

What are you upset about though?

We are actually ahead of the curve.

No one outside of TTech and Indiana are lighting it up. It's a slow draw that's starting to pick up if you're paying attention.
1. The post that the guy quoted of mine was from yesterday when everyone was crashing out

2. We are #63 in portal rankings, tech and indiana arent even top 3

With good players still entering the portal it’s tough to know whether teams should wait before signing players. Hate to use up NIL money and then better players enter portal.
I'd think players would want to enter the portal sooner than later as teams already fill their needs.

I'm not sure I would frame it like that. He is a class act, but his earning potential is limited. After having a tumor that potentially could have ended your career, you would probably want to get as much as you could, while you could too.

Joey may or may not make it in the NFL, but if somebody could pay him 2m more than he made here, that would be hard to turn down considering the circumstances.
We also have no idea what Heupel has told him in private conversations. My guess is Heupel said we would love to have you but we can't wait very long. It sucks but that's the reality of the situation. Pretty sure Heupel really likes Joey but he just can't sit on his hands and hope it works out. NCAA plus court system = incompetence squared.
