2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

We could use a Chris Brazzell type or actually a taller, thicker WR with experience. We don't have a true red zone size mismatch.

Stayley is a beast, Mathews is solid but had drop issues. After that there's zero production. I doubt we go after one, but definitely wouldn't mind seeing a experienced 6'4 220 WR to go get it in the end zone
You’re forgetting Ethan Davis.

Rad Jackson. Kid impressed in very limited time. Caught anything within a mile of his hands.

Hoping to see more out of Smith; or, I won't be a bit surprised to see him transfer. Hope not, but...
Yep. Rad is gonna be a dude next year. In the red zone and everywhere else on the field.

Jakobe went to Miami and became an AA. Christian had a good year in Cincy. His dad knows ball and coaching. Another safety went to Vandy and whipped our ass. Those 2 didn’t just leave for $. If we had Knowles, they wouldn’t have left. People have been wondering about our safety recruiting and scheme/philosophy. Maybe now it will be more clear. Banks is way down the list of coaches you wanted your kid to go play safety for.
Don’t believe we will have that concern anymore but imperative we have a slew of portal safeties and can’t wait to see if we have a safety coach and who it is.

How do you know they didn’t leave for money?

If Harrison left for coaching, why is he leaving Cincy now? Did their staff change? (Legit don’t know the answer to this).

Gonna need portal safeties just to even run Knowles defense at all. I dont see 3 safeties currently on the roster that i even want touching the field at this moment.

Yes he got paid but he didn’t like what he was asked to do here either in a part time role.
Not what I heard. I was told he wanted to be at Tennessee and that he gave Tennessee an opportunity to just get somewhere in the same neighborhood of the money Miami was offering. Tennessee, knowing he wanted to be here (he's a Tennessee kid) called his bluff and now he's playing in the CFP for the second straight year and starting at Miami. Believe what you want about Basilio, but that is the same story that he has reported on air, as well.

That tells me it was 100% about money.

Anytime a coordinator leaves, expect some transfers. I'm sure it will
happen here also. Expect also to see a wr or two transfer out. Vols have
history of utilizing 3 or 4 max. We can't keep 7 or 8 happy.

Staley, Mathews, Key probable starters. Limited production for the others. Will Smith and co. be happy with limited minutes?
Are we willing to pay what it takes to keep the 2nd team happy at wr?

It’s hard for anything to be 100%. Just ask yourself if Jakobe would’ve been AA at UT this year or not. He knows the answer. You know the answer.
Also, Will Harris was a factor. Banks has never coached a safety AA. Harris coached one for Washington in 4 straight years. Now add Jakobe.
