I never said that. Head coaches can’t just leave whenever the want. If they break their contract they have to pay. So please explain why players should hold all the power? Especially when it hurts the teams? You want HCs to be able to do whatever they want but not the players. A real “good for me but not for thee” thing going on here.
That’s the exact model the NCAA operated under for years.
It’s a business for players now as well. So when someone else is willing to pay them more….sorry, that’s just bidness.
Also position coaches/coordinators can leave anytime they want. They aren’t CEOs in this comparison. What gives?
Bad rule in HS also and I suspect if someone had the legal resources and wanted to see it through then they could likely get the rule overturned.High School athletes are subject to transfer eligibility rules, as well, and those rules are much more restrictive in some states. For instance, my son transferred schools after his 7th grade year. He didn't even play any sports at the school he was transferring from but was ineligible to play any sports for a year at the school he transferred to. That was only 9 years ago.
So if you take a job at Federal Express there should be rules in place to prevent you from quitting and going to work at UPS?I never said that. Head coaches can’t just leave whenever the want. Coordinators are coaches who have paid their dues. How have players paid their dues if they have been there for 1 year and they just want to leave? College football was much better before players had all this freedom.
I’m not sure where you lived, but in TN the TSSAA is not that restrictive unless you were transferring schools within the zone/system you live in. TSSAA mandates that a student athlete must sit out if they’re just transferring to transfer. But if they actually move out of one zone/system and into another, then they’re allowed to play without sitting out. However, if it’s the former and they are just transferring, they are still allowed to play JV, they just couldn’t dress out for any varsity sports.High School athletes are subject to transfer eligibility rules, as well, and those rules are much more restrictive in some states. Do we look at one of these transfer QBs? North texas, West Florida, or Raiola from Nebraska? Sellers? Something...
What a tired old argument. Let’s not forget the value of tuition, books, room and board, medical care, family tickets, ETC. As well as the preparation for the professional ranks. Not only for those good enough to make it but for ALL those on the roster as part of a yield process. Just like the classroom.Yea bro it was awesome when the players had no rights while universities made millions off their names lol
Not wanting players to have the freedom to transfer is dumb. You only get the chance to play college ball for so long. Players should be able to go where they want.

For sure they should be able to convert from college ball to the professional ranks at will but not pollute the undergrad scholly processes. Use school to get there.
Calculate the percentage of pro worthy players across all of D1 D2 and D3. There are already pro leagues for them to migrate to except for football where their value can be established and earned. Fix football and move predominantly to the amateur model with valid NIL earning potential let the schools return to supplementing all the non revenue sports with the revenue.
Flip from school to the workplace at will..,period. Don’t need to hybridize college ball. Wanna get the big bucks, move on up.
If we want to make the playoff, it's almost certainly not going to happen with a true freshman playing QB.Honestly, just ride with FB unless there’s a realistic can’t miss option.
I know a lot of posters like GMac but I just keep getting visions of a UGA or Bama player spearing him in half like what happened to JG against UGA.
worst rushing season under Huep......first year without a real homerun hitterThat is saying something, too, since we still had 2,100 rushing yards and averaged 175 per game.
Agree. Bishop is a really good back, but there's a different dimension with guys like Wright and Sampson (but esp Wright) who could take one 75+worst rushing season under Huep......first year without a real homerun hitter. Not saying it was a bad year rushing but there is room for improvement in the RB room and you can't overlook that just because Bishop is a local kid and a good story.
I am betting that Congress will take some judicial flexibility out with some new laws. Too many reps from districts with have nots and will try to restore some principals more like the old days. This has already been argued.
All the way up to the Supreme Court of the great United States of America.
Turns out, players should be paid. So no reason to keep on about it.
But the transfer argument we can continue.
Wouldn’t be opposed to some type of restriction but it can’t be too punitive. Someone brought up coaches have to pay buyouts if they leave. Maybe just make the players / new school pay a buyout.
I think you are either looking at the fanbase tolerating another season similar to 2025 or spending 4+ million on a 1 year player at QB. I think they have to spend the money but im not signing the checksHonestly, just ride with FB unless there’s a realistic can’t miss option.
