2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Guess you gotta sit down and decide if a 1 year rental can get you back to the playoffs with next years schedule, if not, I’d personally just roll with FB.

Or do you go back to last years plan and just load up the defense and try to ride Bishop to the playoffs.
Ive been thinking something similar. If a player Sorsby caliber is going to be a multi team bidding war starting at 4mill then the best path could be to allocate an extra 2.5 million on defense and an extra 1.5 mill on offensive line/RB

We might be getting close to seeing the Wing T make a comeback at smaller schools looking for a competitive advantage

Our RBs that weren't named Star or Bishop collectively averaged less than 3.9 yards per carry. Star is now gone. We absolutely need to improve the RB room in the portal.
How many of those carries were in crunch time and behind our OL 1’s? It matters.

It doesn't matter. Many of those carries came against weaker teams in garbage time. We've had zero problem in the past with our 3rd and 4th string backs getting yardage. Our non-Sampson RBs averaged over 5 yards per carry last year. Same for 2023 and 2022 with those RB groups.

Yes one can get us to the playoffs and it feels like a certainty we get one.
