2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

I’m not tearing down Heard either. But if he was that good and critical to what we do we probably would have paid him what he wants to keep him.
I think he threw out a price he knew we wouldn't meet. He wants to play LT. That wasn't going to happen here because of recruiting promises made to Sanders, We were pushing for him to stay and move to RT. His response was to ask for an insane amount of money.

I thought it was 5 business days? Then a 48-hour window to get their names uploaded?
"Players for Indiana and Miami didn't have to abide by the normal transfer portal window, which ran from Jan. 2-16. Per NCAA rules, players on the two teams competing in the national championship have an additional five-day window, which begins on Tuesday and runs through Saturday."

It looks like we are still waiting on the DL for Florida, but not hearing noise on anyone else. I wonder if we are done or looking at Jucos? It seems we are filling in depth pieces now on offense and defense had a good haul except needing one or two more DL.

I'm satisfied if that's the route we go. Shows me theyve looked, thought, compared, and think the two will bring a good mix of disruption. While others develop.

I'm excited. The incoming freshman class is nothing to shake a stick at.

If we don’t get more DTs like many here think we need…. I assume you will blame RG, yes?
Assuming this wasn't a sarcastic question, the answer from me is "it depends."

If he thinks that we have enough talent and depth on the DL to where we only needed to add 1 IDL and 2 Edge/SDE despite losing Eason/Moi/West/Bailey/Ross/Herring (I don't care about guys who didn't play like Wallace) then if he turns out to be wrong (i.e., it's not enough and the DL is subpar) then yes I will blame him. If he turns out to have been right because we get some combination of a glow-up from returnees + bigtime production from GIlliam/Coleman/Norman + a few of the large and impressive freshmen class, then he gets all the credit.

On the other hand, if he didn't think we have enough talent and depth on the DL and yet failed to acquire more than the 1 IDL and 2 Edge/SDE we did add, then yes I will blame him.

Edwards was FOUR classes ahead of Lewis. Actually technically 5 as he was a RS senior in 97. He played in the rookie game at the Pro Bowl with Peyton and destroyed his knee. The post that I corrected said that Sanks was “on the other side “ at the 1997 game. That was absolutely not the case. You’re taking on water in a hurry and you need to stop and drink some decaf. You came in and corrected me without knowing what you were talking about. You still don’t know what you’re talking about…(for example see the part about the difference in age between Lewis and Edwards) and you’re trying to make up for it by throwing a bunch of information out that I already know. Take your L and move on. You’ll get em another time.
Are you okay? I'm not sure what you're railing about. I was simply correcting you when you said it was Edwards, not Sanks, who the Georgia staff decided to prioritize. Yes, I was wrong when I said that Sanks was a freshman in 1997 (because I didn't realize he went Post Grad to FUMA). But that doesn't change the fact that the UGA staff prioritized Sanks over Jamal before that happened. I'm not arguing what year Edwards was...just that was way ahead of Jamal in age/class.

Pointing out that Edwards was four classes ahead of Jamal further damages your argument that it was Edwards they chose over Jamal. I don't care if Edwards was 2 years ahead of Jamal or 4...he still wasn't the RB that UGA chose over Jamal...that was Sanks. I'm attaching your original post, since you seem to have forgotten what you said, hence what the conversation was about.

Are we officially done? @Stoerner Fumbles
Sorry if you’ve already answered.

I see that there’s two DL from Washington still available if I’m not mistaken. At this point, I’d take both just to fill out the DL.

Parker brothers, both 6’3, 300+. ***One was suppose to start next season***

I think you know the answer. Make up whatever story fits your narrative and parrot it ad nauseam on VolNation. Then claim said information as verified fact. This is the way. We even have some new coaches that we can blame things on next year. Maybe we should set up a hot board with odds of who is next years VolNation coaching whipping boy or boys? Pope went from trash in 2024 to elite in 2025 so it's hard to know this early.

You know what, @sonofUT62? Maybe you meant, when you said, "it was Robert Edwards," that Edwards was on the other sideline in 1997, not that Edwards was the one UGA chose over Lewis (which is how I read it). That wasn't exactly clear which part of the post you were responding to...which led to a series of other misunderstandings. In which case, yes, I agree. Edwards' better game came in 1995, but he was on that UGA team in 1997 too. And Jasper Sanks will always be the guy that UGA stupidly chose over Jamal. Of course, we did the same thing with Daniel Brooks and Patrick Willis.

As an aside, any may also that Edwards was originally a CB.

Parker Brothers? Take.

Please tell me their first names are Milton and Bradley.

Sanders playing LT next season is not because of recruiting promises, lol.

I'm thinking Sanders played better than either of Heard's first two seasons, although I haven't checked the "official" ratings. If Sanders makes the second year jump most do, he might well have beat Heard straight up.

Agree completely. He checks every box and with limited practice reps due to his injury he was still able to come in at the end of the season and play better than Heard at any point during his young career. An off-season being healthy and getting strong, there is a good chance he is a Top 3 LT in the entire SEC next season. He is that good.
