Low NIL to none to add depth with a guy who's played a lot of football.“It would mean a lot running through the T. Getting to put on the orange jersey and white helmets and everything,” Burks said. “It would mean a lot to play here for sure.”
So, where do things stand with TCU, Sam Houston State and Liberty also in the mix for the transfer safety?
“They (Tennessee) are up there for sure,” Burks concluded. “Definitely want to weigh my options and hopefully I’ll have a decision real soon.”
As it currently stands, Tennessee is the final transfer visit for Burks

Sounds like DJ Burks is ours if we want him
Nobody thinks they are infallible. Nobody. Pointing out a "shortcoming" when sitting on your couch at home is laughable. Trying to make decisions in seconds, while considering everything going on with your team? Good luck brother.I doubt I know more than any of our coaches. But I also know they make mistakes, too. It gets tiresome that some think they're infallible. If they were, we'd have more championships to crow about. It doesn't always take an expert to point out shortcomings.
Eh yeah you really only use 2 IDL in most situations with 2 Edge rushers but you need to have depth there. Having only 2 space eaters on a roster would be disastrous. They cant play 70-80 snaps a game. They would at best be extremely tired at worst they would have serious injuries. And without having space eaters the running lanes would be wide open almost every play. You have to have big bodies in the trenches. No matter what era it is.I really see no reason we should go with more than 2 DL in all seriousness. This isn't the 40's, we need to be on the cutting edge. Most teams that are ahead of the curve will be using at most 2 DL on rushing and passing situations. I think Knowles' new 0 defensive lineman alignment is pure genius.
It may be "laughable", but I've seen plenty of people be accurate with their opinions.Nobody thinks they are infallible. Nobody. You never know what can happen when you give a local kid his dream opportunity here. Look at Desean Bishop and even Jakobe Thomas who was at MTSU.Low NIL to none to add depth with a guy who's played a lot of football.
No, that is not how it is going. I am talking about no defensive lineman at all. Knowles’ philosophy is play super soft coverage with 6 linebackers and 5 defensive backs. The idea is to let the opposing team score as quickly as possible and hold our balls on offense.Eh yeah you really only use 2 IDL in most situations with 2 Edge rushers but you need to have depth there. Agreed! But even if you get it a bit higher, it’s usually much cheaper than the usual tonacco shop. Not always, but typically I find it that way.You have to know how to play that game. Easy to overbid or jump too early in a freefall auction. Good to hold back and see what the average prices the lots are running. Really happy getting a 450 ct Herf-A-Dor for $120. Also have to factor in delivery charges. But as you mentioned, great way to build mass stocks in a collection.
