2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Agree on both above points, particulary the unique advantages of our situation. Other teams will be at a logistical disadvantage. The leases in that development between the river and Neyland will be gold.

The Battery makes the Braves (Liberty Media) a ton of money annually. Other teams in pro sports followed suit successfully (Titletown in Green Bay). But in college? It wasn't a necessity until the new financial landscape came into place. You need more revenue....period. Alternatively, they will just keep raising ticket prices, donation requirement amounts, etc. This is a diversification strategy and makes total sense and could ease some pressure on those ticket prices. Other schools are doing this as well. Wake is building a complex similar for football. You might say that Wake is joke but I would counter that so was Vanderbilt. Money talks (still can't process that Vanderbilt was actually good this year-smh).

UNC is strongly considering moving the Smith Center off campus to mixed-use retail development a few miles away, possibly cobranded with Nike/Jumpman.

Kudos to DW and the admin for thinking ahead. But then again, that's their job....generate revenue.
People are thinking about it in terms of football but it will be big draw for men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and other events not to mention the right bars may get the legal aged college kids there on the weekends.

It will be a huge draw for concerts, there is big money to be made here if done RIGHT.

Some of yall are spewing stupidity out of all of your orifices. 4500 in the portal and more entering every day. You focus only on the top 10-15 and get in a bidding war on all of them you’re probably going to miss on all but 1 or 2 - maybe even all of them. Meanwhile, the rest of the pool gets ignored. Spread out folks. This will all sort itself out in time.
For the slow people in the back----

Logic dictates that if you spend a ton of money for someone, in the portal, at any position, the players on your current roster may also demand big money to stay around. Now you've compounded your issue.

You may start Pi$$ing and moaning again now

Last year's portal window was the worst in the Heupel era.... frankly, the man should still get up and apologize to the fanbase for messing about. Had the opportunity to expand on the results from 2024 and get better, instead we got comfortable.
He wanted to imput the program philosophy to rely on our recruiting classes and not on the transfer portal. But I think he had to learn the hard way that as nice as that would be, it doesn't equate to winning in todays college football. We were a player or two from winning multiple more games this year. The margin between winning and losing is not much so we can't pass up on opportunitues to get better.

They value Elarbee's evaluation and development abilities. Anderson will start for them next season.
If you go back and look at the analytics, Max graded out very high for the limited number of snaps he played. This one may come back to bite us in the a$$. I'm glad he got his $$$$$$.
