Update on AJ Harris, sounds like AJ has received at least 2 NIL offers greater than what Vols are willing to do. He said you have to trust JK is in best position to evaluate any of the former PSU guys and share that info with NIL dept guys. He said he wouldn't shut the door yet but chances seem very low at this point that he ends up at UT.

Also, would decrease odds on King Mack as based on most recent conversations he is trending towards where can he be guaranteed a starting spot and maximize NIL, agent team also advising slight step down in competition to maximize numbers next year ia better for possible late round NFL selection versus playing rotation role at major university. NC State & NM State are two teams offering that to Mack at this time. Talks are ongoing and things may change

Did we not learn our lesson from this past season? Huge chunk of the fan base felt like we didn’t attack the portal hard enough, particularly at DL and safety. Just seems like there is zero urgency to upgrade a roster who didn’t beat an FBS team with a winning record.

Yes. He doesn’t talk to ND or their staff. He is there today and they are a top program. He is visiting after us which gives them more of a chance. Anyone who visits another program after us without committing will always be a “watch for them” as they get to wine and dine them.

We couldn't get the deal done while he was on campus. Let them get on another campus and our chances drop drastically. hope we can still find a way

I think majority of fans don’t understand that players still on rosters will enter the portal for the next 11 days, and another 5 days for players in the national championship (Jan 20-24). You don’t go for broke on the first flashy player you see.

We’ve missed on one guy (Byard) so far. Anyone else that’s visited (8-10 guys between Sunday/Monday) is still in play. Just this morning a bama d lineman entered that’s better than both Mateen and Gilliam. Good example of how this is all a gamble but the coaches are getting paid to get the pieces we need.

Have 6-7 more players added from this first wave then absolutely.

For as painful as our coaching and portal staff make it I will give them credit they virtually have a 80-90% hit rate with portal guys coming in and being exactly what we bring them in to be (starting CB, second RB ect).

So the method leads to nice hit rates but when you have the volume of needs we have this year you just worry they will miss out but we aren’t there yet.

We refuse to guarantee a starting spot? Why any of our current safeties would play over him is my only question. Secondary and safety play specifically was absolutely horrid this year.
