2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Agreed. But in a discussion about the number 1 (or whatever it is) offense, the recalculation is only useful once all teams have been re-ranked. At least to me.
I can help. Throw out the Out of conference, Kentucky Arkansas, Mississippi st, Florida because none of them were even close to good.

What did they do vs. Bama, UGA, Vandy, OU.? Under 30 in 3 out of 4.

A lot on here like the “#1 offense in the SEC” title but we were not the best offense in the SEC.

I’m not doing that lol.

Indiana scored 38 vs Alabama.
Tennessee scored 20 against them.

Again AFTER UGA. We just stopped with the scripted play calling for the most part.

If we’re going to be vanilla and fast like Heupel likes then we need to be a lot more physical on both sides of the ball. Period.
Do need to get better but there were differences in the Alabama games.

1. We played on the road
2. We allowed twice as many yards as Indiana which contributed to the overall score.

Heup needs to continue making adjustments as teams have become more accustom to the veer and shoot.

They have money. No way anyone can tell me any different. We have big boosters just like any other school. The athletic department has been bringing in 135-150 million a year from just football. No way they dont have the money to spend. They could spend 50 million a year and still be okay.
Not sure we can spend from the AD profits. At this point, it's supposed to be NIL; not payroll.

Thanks for the contribution.
You’re welcome. Some may not like it ( because it knocks us down a tier in the rankings). But bottom line if you want a fair assessment of what you are, judge it based on what you do against the best.

I’d say we were 3rd offense in the SEC. Ole Miss and Georgia 1&2.

FWIW…AP said on Josh & Swain yesterday that he sees us only taking 1 linebacker

The rest of the guys added defensively will be lineman & secondary guys
That must speak to the progress our young LBs are making. Probably similar to the concern people had with not taking a big name WR last year.
