What if some girls don’t like her… it’s speculated many didn’t like Kellie coaching.. we can only assume. I’m sure not all the girls liked all the assistants

Hell everyone here hates Jon and they don’t even know what he did

Not all relationships are good. Again only an assumption. We don’t know what they said to her or vice versa

What I do trust is KC's confidence...she's well aware that keeping a former assistant can have its drawbacks or can be awkward etc. If she decides to keep Coach Sam, she has her reasons and the pros obviously outweigh any potential cons.

I agree I just don’t get why the prevailing narrative is so hard for keep… just putting out reasons she wouldn’t bc it’s such a no brained for most here to keep

Donors are foolish to contribute to NIL--more so on the men's side than the women's, but probably still foolish on the women's side. First, a lot of players who get money won't pan out and thus will prove a waste of money. Second, those players who do become good college players immediately become the target of other programs. They will tamper with the good players, offer them more money--and it's very possible that the good player will enter the portal and transfer to obtain more money-- thus wasting your donors' investments. BUT: all is not lost. If you lose a player to the portal, you can offer big bucks to players at other programs and persuade them to enter the portal and transfer to your school, thus perhaps evening things out. Ahh, college sports today--what fun for coaches.

If Coach Sam does have this type of relationship with Brooks and Chastain, not to mention the 9 players that have us as finalist in the 2025 class, there would be no way I would let her slip away as a new head coach. That would be a worse coaching move than any messups coaching the sideline considering she has never recruited the caliber of players needed to win on a night in and night out in a power 5 conference. She recruited the kind of players and built relationships with the type of players that just lost by 43 points to Virginia Tech in the first round of the NCAA tournament. She needs assistants who have these long established relationships with Power 5 caliber recruits who can sell her vision of the program.

My prediction is the money for HS atheletes unless they are truly elite….IE a top 5 Knecht difference maker out of HS will disappear. The here is $25k just to put on a USCjr WBB uniform will not be there.

The real money bidding will be for those that show up and prove they really got it like a ZZ.

Eventually capitalism/common sense will figure out betting on a proven player is better than betting on stars out of HS.

These are the pros I was referring to - and why I would not be surprised (and personally I'd be happy) if Coach Sam is here to stay. Might not be the normal route a new coach would take, but this is a bit of an unusual situation.
