I was fine until I watched the Jewell interview now I am not so fine. Still just see where it goes, but the SEC is such a monster some people don't realize it until it is upon them. If you haven't prepared it is already to late. And the truth is, in many ways, these players know more about P5 and SEC play than CKC. It might be telling to see how this plays out.
I was born a UNC fan, and I will totally admit the SEC is a different bear than the ACC. And that’s between P5 conferences…For better or worse, here we are!I was fine until I watched the Jewell interview now I am not so fine. It takes a special player to transfer in and accept that type of role. I think of the players on their roster only Cardosa and PaoPao were transfers, right? The rest were all recruited out of HS. A lot of your top transfers aren’t moving to only play 25 minutes or less.Kim could also use SC as an example of how to carry a full roster, use all the players, and keep them happy enough to stay.
I haven’t watched Marshall play yet, but people on here said she subs every 90 secs, do u think we will be able to get the truly elite recruits to want to play that way or is that a no go because they will want playing time?Well if they leave goodbye
CKC will have to do it in the portal already anyway…
i watched their game against JMU in the championship of the sun belt, and she subs more than anyone i’ve seen. it’s a constant 3-5 in, 3-5 out.I haven’t watched Marshall play yet, but people on here said she subs every 90 secs, do u think we will be able to get the truly elite recruits to want to play that way or is that a no go because they will want playing time?
I think u will get both… also she’s probably never had an athlete who can literally play at that level for 40 mins. Will be interestingI haven’t watched Marshall play yet, but people on here said she subs every 90 secs, do u think we will be able to get the truly elite recruits to want to play that way or is that a no go because they will want playing time?
From the press conference it doesn’t look like she will change, but she will need to let recruits and portal players know that before they come, I’m sure that’s the questions they will ask her.I’m hoping she is willing to adapt. I have no issues with pressing and shooting 3s. I’m hoping that maybe she’ll leave players in longer.
It is expected with turnover unfortunately. Im more eager to see how she Attacks the portal. Lots of good talent in there already.Clark plays 40 minutes almost every game and most of the others also think they used two subs. Just need to see what this is all about for sure and how she runs a roster. I am now expecting some players to hit the portal JMO.
I hate to say this but most players who are extremely talented want their minutes and time to shine. I’m not saying they are all selfish, but they’ve worked hard and want to be rewarded. If any player has had issues with feeling like they were underutilized on their past tram, you can cross them off coming here, unless Caldwell changes that part of her system. The problem she may face is not many players that are power five talent like to play like that. I am sure it is fine for D2 and Marshall players because they are just glad to have a place to play. When your dealing with the personalities of power five players going in and out every two minutes will not be that receptive for a lot of them. They want their 30 plus minutes not 20 playing in two minute sprints.
