If true Barnes not likely matching that and risk affecting team chemistry . Guess will see how close Vols get if enough to have him come to Tennessee.Per Trilly, “Source said (UK offered) 1.7 million. Grain of salt, but feels like the right ballpark.” Also says he’s told Barnes is pissed about the way this has played out and turned into a NIL thing over the last week or so.

SF said it. Said we'd adjust our numbers and give another offer but we wouldn't do a bidding war of back and forth. I definitely wouldn't blame Barnes IF this is the way we lose him.Didn’t SF say this wouldn’t turn into a bidding war and we’d back out? Or was that BTO?
Either way, whatever at this point.
Hope we land him.
If Lanier doesn’t come here I don’t ever wanna see someone get scolded or being treated as if they are hysterical for being worried about a kid’s recruitment after BTO or SF has said it’s basically in the bag

He’d rather rip people and insult them rather than actually tell them what he knows.SF was fine, but BTO definitely ribbed people pretty hard about being “hysterical” and was basically like “if you knew what I knew, you wouldn’t worry.” Any time money is involved, no one should ever feel good until the dotted line is signed.
Yeah. I wasn’t even trying to call out BTO or SF specifically for doing that, or for potentially being wrong. But the example that I remembered most specifically was you and BTO. I appreciate the info and recognize that it’s good info, but there needs to be recognition that what is isn’t always what will beSF was fine, but BTO definitely ribbed people pretty hard about being “hysterical” and was basically like “if you knew what I knew, you wouldn’t worry.” Any time money is involved, no one should ever feel good until the dotted line is signed.
I'm with you on that. We paid Dalton Knecht ~$400K last year, and let's just say this go round he would've been in the ball park of close to a mil or so. No way Chaz Lanier is worth 2 mil.Hope we adjust our number or he’s gone.
Guys like Cam Christie, Wooga, etc would cost way less and they only have one year left as well.
I’m getting to the point where I hope we move on. Good player, but for 2mil? Nah
Christie is more valuable, IMO. Hence why he is still poking around at the draft at the NBA Combine. If he withdraws from the draft, he is going to command a lot of money due to a lack of options this late in the game from the portal.Hope we adjust our number or he’s gone.
