2024 Transfer Portal Thread

We aren't going to land Tyson, Milicic, and Anderson, though, with Dubar already signed. Way too many cooks in that kitchen.
If we could get all of them I wouldn’t be surprised if we tried. However, I do believe it is very unlikely. I honestly prefer Anderson over Tyson. Because he’s just going to be a sophomore too.

Help me out here. I looked up Okparas stats. He seems like a down grade from Aidoo.
Offensively, he's a downgrade if we look to run our offense thru him. Defensively, he's probably an upgrade as a rim protector, but at worst, he's a wash on that end. He's more aggressive than Aidoo and at least an equal rebounder.

Jonas Aidoo: Sophomore year: 5.1 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.3 bpg and 51% fg

Felix Okpara: 6.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 2.4 bpg, and 58.6% fg

Okpara had a better sophomore year than Jonas. Is a better rim protector and has a better fg%. Can Okpara make the same jump that Aidoo made from Sophomore --> Junior year? Who knows.

Aidoo is not worth the rumored 1mil he wants though. You also get Okpara for two more years and Aidoo would only be for 1 more year.

Sounds to me like Lanier, Tyson/Anderson, Milicic, Okpara & Mabar is what the staff is looking to close with

With Anderson I’m seeing a bit of a red flag..

At 6’9” 190 pounds he played 30 minutes a game and only averaged 3.7 rebounds in the Atlantic Sun. Vescovi averaged 3.7 rebounds in 25 minutes a game this year. You gotta hit the boards harder than that to play for Barnes imo lol.

Do you think that maybe they just save a spot in their back pocket? I don’t think we really need to add anyone else if we get Lanier, Igor, and Mabar. Would be nice to have the flexibility in case someone emerges in the summer.

He’s a jumbo wing/guard, not a post player

He’s a 3 at the next level, not a 4, I get you want then all to be 4’s lol

He needs to rebound better, but he wasn't tasked with crashing the boards. He's a tall perimeter player.

Apparently we've been in on him for a while. He was here in November for an unofficial.
Reminds me of the Tamba situation a couple of years back. He was a silent commit to us for a long time before it was official if I remember correctly.
