No, the S curve is not a true snake. The top seeds on each top line are typically put in a region closest to home, so we would likely be in the south or Midwest as a top 2 seed.

Seeding, Officials and Location. Is a team good enough to overcome it? Officials play favorites as well and some let them play and some call it tight. Some change their minds at half time. No standardization and no control.

For example it was quite obvious Pat Adams got caught up in the game and missed this call.

Beating South Carolina and Alabama would help us out with SECT seeding, but also the Gators are right on that cut line of being a Q1 win. A win today could possibly bump them back into Q1 territory.

I don't feel any rivalry in basketball strong enough to not root for a team helping us win a SEC championship.

If we win out, why no #1 in the south with Houston as #1 in the West? I mean it's not like the S-16 and E-8 games aren't going to sell out regardless of Houston not getting a "home" game in Dallas.

Houston will be a higher ranked 1 seed, so they will get location preference over us.

It’s a rare bird who can officiate a championship caliber game in front of a loud amped up crowd and not get caught up in the excitement. Seems like they either swallow the whistle or start blowing it constantly. Another one of the many factors that make winning a basketball championship so tenuous.

Officiating has been this way since 1979, Adams just has taken his spot with the rest of bad officials I've seen through the many years. Nothing I can do about it so I don't complain.

Great teams conquer any obstacle in their way, including bad officials..

Very simplistic view of things IMO. The Ahkeem / Drexler Houston team was an all time great team that didn’t win the tourney. I’m sure other posters can name some more great teams as well. In sports and especially basketball and baseball, the better teams don’t win 100% of the time and they certainly shouldn’t have to also overcome poor officiating.

I would rather have that simplistic point of view, instead of playing the blame game on the officials.

Yea I've watched numerous great teams lose, also seen great teams overcome piss poor refs to win .

Certainly you should be you. My only question is does recognizing the variables outside of your control equal blaming a loss on those variables? Go VOLS!

I agree. Basketball is a game that's almost impossible to officiate and I rarely watch a game that I say " what great officiating". I rarely think they are all that one sided either. Funny how the "fix" is in every game yet we keep winning. This must be the greatest team of all time or the worst refs of all time at fixing games.

Yep. But I still think we have to go 2-0 this week or we won’t get it. Ideal scenario is 2-0 with Florida going 2-0 this week to bump them back to a Q1 win for us. That would have us at 9-5 in Q1 and a conference title. We’d have more Q1 wins than both Arizona and UNC and no Q3 losses. Would be nearly impossible to keep us off the 1-seed line at that point.

I agree need to win both and leave no doubt. This team deserves the #1 seed and by going 4-0 in this rough stretch should prove it to everyone involved.

If zona could lose 1 more, even if it’s in the first round of the P12 tourney, it would be massive for us. Would lock us into the 1 even if we go 1-1 this week, IMO.

Agree. The committee will look for any reason to have a Western team on the one line. 4-0 over this run, and a championship is strong medicine.
