Talking about a cruise? It got cancelled.
We were booked on a Viking ocean cruise. Not a river cruise.
Where you thinking about going?
we're going on river cruise in Aug. I'm trying to make up my mind whether to get the drink package or not. Yeah, we'll drink some but not sure if its worth the $350. We wont be drinking in the morning, in the afternoon we'll be out on excursions/tours. That leaves afternoon and nights. Sure will have some at dinner but if I'm in a port and we're not leaving for a few hours, I'd rather be at a local establishment having a few than sit on the boat. Spoke to a friend last night that just got back from the Viking around the British Isles and he said its not worth it. Even others on that cruise that bought the package said it wasnt worth it.

Which river?
Here is a discussion about drinks on Viking on "Cruise Critic"
Ha, if your spouse is a wine snob might be worth it?? My wife usually like the higher priced wines on a cruise.

We've been a couple of Viking tours, river and ocean. We mostly drink wine and beer. We haven't purchased the drinks package. Note that wine and beer are served with lunch and dinner, gratis. No limit on how much they serve you. After dessert, the servers have always asked us if we want another beverage to "walk" with and these drinks are always poured large.

We always seem to buy some local wine and beer at most ports of call to get a taste of the local wares, so we have never missed the drinks package.

Had -7 on the day. But on two holes bogie was my best score with two golfers. So from what I’m reading here that would actually make me -5 for the day. Should be closing up at -25 then.

Please check your score. Congrats to @peaygolf!

Geez. Foiled again. I think that’s 2 or 3 second place finishes by one or two strokes. And one winning loss on a tie breaker to Joe. I’m starting to feel like Mcillroy must feel.

Congrats Peay.

Dang Mrs Fox. You lost to me, Joe, and Gordo in the same week this time. Tough weekend.

thank you as well as @Go aeiou for the link. I'm kinda leaning on not buying now. Tell me this, Dani, on the river cruise, when does the boat usually pull out to go to the next port. I was guessing it would be late since its not a sea cruise and having to travel too far for the next port (unlike the sea).

Usually, the boat pulled out fairly late. There were usually late afternoon tours. But it does depend on the schedule and how far the boat needs to go to the next port. I'll bet you can go to the Viking website for the tour you're interested in and get the exact itinerary.

PS It's Danl, with and L, like Danl Boone.:)

PS: It's with a L, like all the Ls @GVF takes every week.
