I know we have 15 players now, but one is a walk on, so, technically we have another scholly to give for this coming season. So, could be a transfer in?

On the other hand, keeping these 14 happy is challenge enough, so I'm guessing it's a new recruit.

And, BTW, what was "Stranger Things, Part One?"

LOL, it’s a very popular sci-fi series on Netflix set in the early 80’s. They released the first 7 episodes of season 4 last month and part 2 is releasing tomorrow. I would think if someone is committing it would be a 2023 since we don’t have a scholarship available and a full roster

Fun thread, but who are the ball players that have visited together and possibly committed? Also for what year are they supposedly committing?

Aaliyah Del Rosario 6’6” post ranked #8 overall hoopgurlz. Teammate Angelica Velez 5’7” point guard ranked #36 . Both play at Webb school in Bellbuckle Tennessee ! I hope these are the first recruits for 2023 ! 🙏

I know the chickens aren't hatched yet, but I don't think they would be playing around with the fans hearts and heads by posting this but then not delivering recruits. I have thought it was strange nothing has emerged from their visit but it would make sense that they are actually wrapping things up behind the scenes. Also why put the number 2 in the release unless it involves 2 recruits. I can't till tomorrow. Please chickens, hatch!!!

Would you say the two playing on the U18 team together might be a deciding factor? The timing of the visit definitely looks that way, and we know they had good chemistry together while playing.

Velez seems under-ranked for her skillset, imo. These two, plus Nichols for '23, and Olson and Strong for '24 would make me more than confident in our tournament potential in the seasons to come.

I am old-school when it comes to my PG
I want a mentality of distribute, drive and shoot,,in that order,,with a dog-minded defense mentality.
We have this in Brooklynn, Jasmine and Velez has these same characteristics. She would be a great get...I have not followed or been in any way personally involved with the recruits since it has fallen in capable hands and feel it is now in very good hands so I am in the stands fully now.

I do see a formidable connection between Justine and DeRose' and hope to see this in the LV future and right now it's just a feeling,,,but I think I will be "smilin" in the near future

the LVs are recruiting two from the U-18 and two /plus one next year from the U-18. If what Coach said in the most recent interview the LVs are being selective .

Also recruits can take many official visits and many take them to decide which school to sign with. Hopefully, I'm not being anti- this board by stating my preference is waiting for learning who was selected, rather than getting behind any of the wish lists of our members. go LVs.

Playing together in a tournament…. Players do get close and develop friendships. I am sure this scenario is potentially correct !

Velez , I agree should be ranked higher but time will tell how she progresses? These people ranking recruits are all about numbers ….. how many points scored , rebounds , assists , etc. Angelica is a shoot last type of a point guard ! Getting her teammates in the right position and getting the offense plays run right ., seems to me to be her main focus ….. she will shoot but usually after a breakdown of a play or if left open . She has the wheels to get to the rim when she wants but sometimes a little to hap hazard with her shot ? I believe the people ranking her are looking for more points from her and with all players! She can score but that is not her main focus ! Her defense is admirable and becomes a real pest most of the time . She is a true point guard and in my opinion, when you can get one …. take them even if you may not need one ? There is always sickness , injury, etc. And there is usually a point in every game when controlling the ball and time is more important than scoring!
