2020 qb comparison/talk/debate (merged)

It is all relative to the era and the rules of that era. The increase in scoring of late is due to the exploitation of allowing lineman to be 3-5 yards down field by the RPO offenses. Even if 28 is the new 14, defense still decides championships.
As far as yards gained, the new strategy to combat the RPO I have noticed is to stuff the run with the front seven and the secondary playing contain. This leaves a soft spot for shorter routes.
This strategy will yield yards and TOP, its aim is to prevent RAK and deep explosive plays.
Once the field is shortened, the secondary presses the receivers more and tightens up.
I can see your point. Guess it hard to see past the fireworks of offenses that average 50 points a game...but your right. Its all relative. Good call

Isnt your hero a RS JR...yes. the difference was JG has 2 seasons of experience and only produced the same as a guy that took 38 snaps. That, EINSTEIN is the point....JG has reached his ceiling which is what he said....im sorry you have so much trouble following thing.

Maybe if he had been in the same offense every year you might have a point. But he wasnt so you don't.

It is the exact same situation with JG that LSU had with Burrow. Actually JG had had a better JR year than Burrow had with less pt. Those are just the facts.

Of course. Any excuse.
Whats it gonna be if be bombs in the bowl game??

And Pruitt's and the team's and the people who cover the team, and going by stats. But yes also my opinion in addition to anyone who counts.
Kind of makes you wonder if that were true why Pruitt went back to Maurer once he was cleared vs KY huh? You don’t know how the team feels as I’ve explained and the media follows a narrative. Bottom line..... it’s your opinion.

Meanwhile...Jg is the most durable qb in the history of the world. Ya, lucky us. And we get him for a 5th year! With our luck, he’ll probably get some sort of exception form the ncaa and play here a 6th year
You shut ur dirty mouth

It's a trash comment from a trash fan. If you don't want JG to play, fine, but going about it that way is poor.

People make jokes. That’s what they do. But ya...it sucks to see other programs winning because they have good qb play and yet we signed the no1 fuel threat qb in the nation who’s now been in our program for 4 years and yet couldn’t throw a ball in the ocean (while on a boat in the ocean). He a an that couldn’t get out of the way of a blitzing tortuous. How could we have possibly gotten so unluck? We might’ve been in the sec championship game if Jg had been a good qb. Instead we lost to ga state and byu to start the season.

We had no chance at being in the SEC championship game.

I promise you i have played a lot more football than you have.

I didnt say they were on a level field. Thats not my point.

My point is, that in modern football(as evidenced by a 7 td performance in 1 half of a natl semi game), it is hard to believe that JG had 12 tds all of last year and 16 all of this year.
The guy you're bragging on in Burrow only had 16 last year, hard to believe.

Well, that explains how we ran out of gas against GA ST. and BYU.....

You do realize non-conference games didn’t decide us not playing for the SEC Championship game, right? Trying to save you a shred of credibility here.

I hope JG declares or transferes. Lol. I dont hate the kid. Just feel like we sre stuck in mud with him at QB
A good bowl game would go a LONG way to launch momentum for senior year. Bad game, and it's kinda like the Giants firing Shurmur...you know what you've got, and if you expect to take the next step, have to make a change. If Bailey is top shelf, plenty of examples of Frosh coming in and lighting it up.

Robinson would have been #1 if he hadn't tore his knee. The Ice Man is my all time favorite though. He may have been the toughest SOB to ever play QB for TN. His 4 and forever completion for a First Down against Bama is stuff of legends.
Yeah, I'd put TRob in top 5 for sure...probably Peyton, Casey, Condredge, TRob, Shuler... based on talent. Between him and Chuck Webb, I'm not sure who's college career would have been better if didn't get derailed by injuries. Both had talent to be on UT Mt Rushmore.

Ya. Reread my post. Just saying that we could’ve been a team that challenged Georgia for the easy with our overall defensive play, off endive line play, and receivers. Instead we end up losing a couple of terrible games. Of course those had no impact on the sec. but if we can’t beat ga state...were obviously not beating Florida and Georgia.
You do realize that in the Ga. State game we were without 4 defensive starters and a DLine that returned 0 starters from the previous year unless you want to count D. Taylor as a Dlineman.. On top of that, the defense had freshman playing as well... Much more dynamics involved than trying to blame one player.. The players have gotten over the losses and moved on... We should as well..

Ok. Guess I misinterpreted what you were getting at.

But none of that matters if we’d have had just average qb play. We should’ve easily been able to hang 40+ on them. Easily

I can’t believe no one is talking about the fact that JG wasn’t the sole reason we lost to GAST. We couldn’t stop the option so defense shares half the blame on that one but has anyone compared GAST to Kentucky? Once again we couldn’t stop the option in the first half and there’s countless posts suggesting Maurer would’ve lost that game. I see similarities.
