2020 Primaries

The guy didn't explain why a civilian needs a full combat load of ammunition in their house.

Because he wants to? You going to argue that nobody needs a 400+ HP V-8 next? After all you can already do a lot of damage to a crowd with a Prius.

They were wise enough to know that those 13 colonies would expand into a vast nation, and the constitution they provided has stood the test of time.

What? They didn’t even know what existed past basically Ohio.

Another example of “I can’t justify why things are the way they are, so I’ll just resort to telling everyone to get out”. It’s like a natural defense when there is no better leg to stand on.
Not at all. It was a legitimate comment. America isn't a democracy. Being the one wanting to change it, the onus is on you to make the argument for changing it, and--for all your bellyaching--you've been unable to make that argument.

All you've done is complain that it's impossible to change. So, living in a democratic republic, considering it unfair, while considering it impossible to change... Perhaps you should move to a democracy.

(I've tried to engage you on your ill-defined "fair/moral/just" complaint and you refused to engage. I don't care about your personal credulity. Make a logical argument or get off the pot.)

@OHvol40 is going to be a downloaded consciousness in year 3037 when an alien war comes to Earth and he will be like "I told you the US would fall back in 2020 because of the minitories running this country, by gawd."

Lol, if that’s my reality, I’m totally doing that.

Yeah, the person getting the most votes winning an election is just so radical, I can’t believe anyone would suggest such a thing.

Who’s butthurt?

I don't care "what [you] say" is a perfect example. Make a logical argument as to why it's fair.

Are you saying that democratic voting is always "a perfect example for fair"? If you're the only woman in a room full of men, democratic vote is "a perfect example of fair" when it comes to a train being run on you? Or is equal say in election (mob rule) not always fair?

Do you think America wants to run a train on you?

The person with the most votes wins the election. Now, I’ll wait for your “logical” counterpoint.

That's pretty short sighted of you. Men came together to write a constitution establishing a country that in their mind would never flourish past what they knew existed at that moment. Right.

Stop! You look ridiculous. Are you not going to acknowledge the very things you’ve accused Trump of, Joe just did to a group of blue-collared citizens? IOW, he was un-presidential in his tone and language. Trump was, according to you and others. Call it both ways. Your contempt for all things Trump precludes you from doing that. That’s the problem with you and the left, and it will be why Trump will win re-election in resounding fashion.
How was he cruel, lying or vindictive? He was standing in a group of blue collar workers who were spouting Fox and Trump blatant lies. Do you think they never heard a curse word before? Some of the greatest presidents cursed. I am not living in the 1800's.

It's pretty popular around here. You seem to be part of the minority that believes the EC should be abolished. I know I prefer not being dominated by CA or NY logic.

That’s why you have equal representation in the Senate.

Screw politics. Every American vote counting the same Is the issue. Period.
Just wondering, do you have a problem with each state getting 2 senators when each of their votes counts the same, small population and large population?

why have a senate at all?

I can read and speak in full sentences, so that would be an improvement at least.

Yet you can't express a well thought out debate about why the EC should be abolished, and what benefit that would provide the country after 230 years of successful, peaceful presidential nominations without once an overthrow of government.

“I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and Constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.”

-Thomas Jefferson

This man shaped our constitution as much or more than any other. Was he wrong?

No, that’s the balance between rural vs urban. It’s also exactly why the EC is unnecessary.
