My questions are...which party pointed them in the direction to find it ? How has Bernie been in office this long and can still have anything new come out that hasn’t been reported on ?

The Russians didn't give it to the NY Times. It was in a public archive in Burlington's "sister city" Yaroslavl.

The documents, available at the Yaroslavskaya Region State Archive in Yaroslavl, are included in a file titled “documents about the development of friendly relations of the city of Yaroslavl with the city of Burlington in 1988.”

The Times requested the file from the archive on Thursday of last week. Archive employees said the documents had to first be checked for personal information, and they made the file available on Tuesday. Six pages were hidden from view because, the archivists said, they contained personal information.

I'm not sure you realize how information gets out of Russia or may not even know what an archive is. I highly doubt this was sitting in some public library in Russia. Think of their "request" like our FOIA request.

The files are open to the public, though archivists there said that, until now, no one had asked to see them.

So.

Either "the Russians" tipped the Times off to their existence (Why?) or the Times was digging to get "dirt" on Bernie now because Biden is the chosen one. Or the Times was just curious.

Whichever works for you, I suppose. Deflect away.

Maybe Biden tipped them off because he was tipped off by Russians. However it went down, the Russians had a hand in it. Could have been Hillary's GPS pocket ace from 2016.

Great analogy, except for the facts that:

1) Monsters don't exist.
2) And spying on Western democracies and meddling in their affairs has been one of the central animating preoccupations of Russia for nearly a century.

You should be looking in the mirror when you say that. You are the one ignoring reality because of your Rubella Petasum-itis.

Most of us want to merely combat Russian attempts to interfere with democracy wherever possible, as we have been doing since 1945. It only became controversial to do so circa January 2017.

Bernie Sanders has never been vetted thoroughly. I mean NEVER. The Clinton campaign had a large oppo folder on him but never used it. I wouldn’t be surprised if that folder has found its way into the hands of the NYT or the Washington Post.

They could have also gotten the information for the Soviet Unions archives.

I guess that’s what puzzles me , how can someone that’s made their whole life about politics , held a congressional seat and ran for POTUS twice now ... never had a deep dive oppo exposed on him ?

So President Trump is in it for the power? When the Republicans had the house Senate and presidency they could not repeal Obamacare? The Dems passed that crap in budget reconciliation in the middle of the night. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen on both sides but it's much higher on the left
