Trump is a self promoting marketeer ... a world where exact truth is negotiable and not a highly valued commodity. He just doesn't care if he makes up stuff or exaggerates fact a bit - that's what marketing types do ... not really so different from any run of the mill politician. Spin is spin, but generally politicians realize they need to do it in a way that they don't get caught in a lie - Trump obviously just doesn't care. By all indications Biden is trying to remember fact, and it just isn't working.

I have to believe that several of Reagan's insane financial and regulatory decisions were the work of others. The concept of over funded pension plans is a great one. I doubt that Reagan was really thinking about "all that money if we could just get our hands on it".

Well, my take is I'm 73 and have a lot of stuff stored away, and it takes time to sift through all the file drawers and find the precise word I want (apparently some are misfiled, too); it was easier years ago without all this accumulated wealth of fact and wisdom. Anyway that's my version, and I'm sticking to it. I think Joe's boot log and disk directory are seriously corrupted and his last attempt to defragment went horribly wrong.

No, Obama was a preacher with a lectern and a teleprompter with somebody else's words. Without the cheat sheets, he was like a jock taking a calculus test ... way way out of his element. Not much better at getting his act together than Joe.
