We call this the Ted Cruz effect now. Ted Cruz was so disliked and hated by the other candidates that they would rather stay in to spite him than dropout and prevent Trump from winning. They dropped out to help Biden and hurt Sanders. So what? There is nothing wrong with that. It is more than appropriate.
Had some of the 16 repubs. been as respectful to the country in 2016, we could have avoided the whole Trump catastrophe.
I don't think there is any doubt that Trump would rather run against Bernie Sanders than Joe Biden. I am the eternal optimist, but even I don't think that Sanders would beat Trump. Biden has a fighting chance. His choice of running mate would/will be important. As will Trump supporters. We appreciate it!
Whether you like or dislike Trump, the fact he beat Hillary supports that the Republicans made the right choice. The point of the primaries is to pick someone who will win.We call this the Ted Cruz effect now. His obvious dementia is going to get him crushed. Dems had no one this time around.
I dont see how he does. Biden inspires nobody to vote for him.
I dont remember Biden handling any pressure well this election cycle
, and he hasnt faced much. He is the biggest #2 in DC. Looks ok until you get him in the lime light and then he melts.
He does nothing to expand their base.
Without a pulse.... you just described Joe BidenThe hard core will still turn out for him, and things are so politicized now that it won't be nearly the losses of Mondale, McGovern, or Carter on his second run. Dems could probably get 30% of the popular vote today by running anybody ... with or without a pulse.
I just wonder if Sanders and his supporters will feel screwed again, like they did in 2016? If they do, that could potentially hurt the Dems in the Presidential election.
That is crazy. Joe Biden hasn't come out of nowhere. He was leading in the polls for a solid 6 months in 2019. Trump and his surrogates (Rudy Giuliani and Devin Nunes) have been trying to dig up dirt on Biden since last July. Also Biden has had the benefit of the heat being off him for a while now, starting tomorrow that will change
The heat went away for the last few weeks because Sanders was seen as the leader, all the heat turned to Sanders. Now with all the media love tonight it’s going to come back on Biden and biglyThat is crazy. Joe Biden hasn't come out of nowhere. He was leading in the polls for a solid 6 months in 2019. That's only under the assumption that none of the others would have won.Whether you like or dislike Trump, the fact he beat Hillary supports that the Republicans made the right choice. The point of the primaries is to pick someone who will win.
I would contend that Trump's gaffes occur at an alarming rate and they are well documented on Twitter.
