If there aren’t enough teenagers to fill those jobs the problem will fix itself or the business will suffer. Working a skilless job 40 hours a week shouldn’t guarantee anything.

Let me leave you with some honest advice about 2020.

Even if you don't agree with me (you clearly don't). You might try better tactics than calling an entire generation of people freeloaders who don't want to work and are losers.

That's only going to divide this country more and regardless of the outcome of 2020, make it a heck of a lot worse.

Don't like Bernie, don't vote for him. Hate Bernie, don't vote for him. But maybe just maybe there is a reason why so many are resonating with his message.

the data just don't back this up.

In 2018, 1.7 million workers, or 2% of all hourly paid, non-self-employed workers, earned wages at or below the federal minimum wage of $7.25. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), 82 million people were paid hourly rates in 2018. That’s 59% of all wage and salary workers in the United States.

So just over 1% (1.18%) of those employed in the US make minimum or below.

It is exception.

When you have unemployment as low as it currently is you don’t. The market takes care of it quickly. I am handing out of cycle raises out like candy. Just opened a new casual dining restaurant in a rural north Georgia mountain town. I had to start wages at a minimum of $18 an hour for cooks just to outpace the fast food restaurants in town. And that’s for someone with zero experience. Hosts, who are usually are lowest paid folks, are starting at $12. That’s just to be competitively superior to a damn BoJangles.

zaggy, ask the people on this forum who actually hire people if they like to hire malcontents who constantly bitch about their situation. I don't hire people anymore since I am now retired. I would have not wanted you anywhere in my business. People like you poison the attitude of the team.
