2020 Primaries

yes they have gone up - if you understand inflation so long as none of those rose faster than 135% then whatever 3.35 paid for in the 80s, 7.90 would pay for now. that's how it works.

šŸ˜‚ he doesn’t understand

But I think he meant to say education costs have risen 135%.

No one is calling them failures. Just pointing out that if you are a grown adult making minimum wage then you have made some pretty bad decisions in life that led you to that point. And it should be your responsibility to get yourself out of the mess that you created for yourself.

So is it unfair that minimum wage workers in some countries make a good wage and have benefits?

Since they made bad decisions to get there? Which by the way is completely ludicrous to assume.

No one even a HSer should make 7.25 first off.

Second, you act like these workers are bottom of the barrel scum.

These are hard working, red blooded Americans who if they work their ass off for 40 hours a week deserve a baseline of living.
Lmao not all of them are hard working. Some are druggies, some are felons. Some are idiots

Define communism please because you couldn't and if it did, it wouldn't be close to Bernie's platform.

WTF did Bern choose to honeymoon in the USSR during the cold war? Communist... Why did he praise Castro? Cuba Communist country that supported the USSR during the cold war.

Please share with me the profile of an able bodied man who has made minimum wage for two years and I will provide some constructive criticism.

He doesn’t understand that skilless labor equates to low wages no matter how ā€œhardā€ one supposedly works. Being the worlds best burger flipper is comparable to being the worlds tallest midget.

All you have to do is show up sober when scheduled and you won’t be making min wage for long. It’s cheaper to pay more than to rehire.

Why is it ludicrous to assume? So if a 33-year old is making minimum wage, is it fair to ask what they were doing with their lives between the ages of 18-33?

According to my dad(may he RIP), his healthcare growing up was whatever home remedy his mother could come up with. But kids today have it so much tougher.

Good burger flippers can still make a decent living.

Castro overthrew a fascist installed by the US. Some of his reforms helped. Others were horrible.

It is perfectly fine to praise some of what Castro did while criticizing him in other areas as an authoritarian who persecuted dissidents.

There were people who honeymooned in Nazi Germany that weren't Nazis. There were people who honeymooned in China that aren't commies. Since when does honeymoon location correlate to political affiliation?

I want to honeymoon in big sky country one day, sure as hell don't mean I'm Republican.

I respect any burger flipper. It may be a sucky job, but at least it's a job.

And some are hard workers who work their tails off. And I'd say that percentage is higher than the groups you listed.
Do you understand supply and demand? It applies to labor, too. Your government has allowed God knows how many unskilled or low skilled laborers into the country to compete for low wage jobs. The more of them that are available, the lower the wage.

Based on the finite number of jobs and demands are economy has. Someone has to make minimum wage. It just has to be. And teenagers can't fill all those jobs. So some people regardless of how smart or hardworking they are fill those jobs and work incredibly hard at them.

They deserve a good wage that sustains them if they work 40 hours a week.
