Now that our season is officially over where do you guys see us in the Preseason polls for 2020?

- We haven't been ranked since the week of September 10, 2017
- Currently on a 6 game winning streak
- 16th ranked composite recruiting class (4 spots left to fill)

Key losses
WR: Marquez Callaway, Jauan Jennings, Tyler Byrd
TE: Dominick Wood-Anderson
OL: *Trey Smith
LB: Daniel Bituli, Darrell Taylor
DB: Nigel Warrior
LS: Riley Lovingood

I’d like to see us start out ranked, actually. Based on this year’s recruiting class/events... it seems as though we would be really helped by some increases to our brand/perception. Preseason hype around the program would help recruiting.

Outside Top 25. We are one of the top 25 teams; however, we will be double digit dogs in 4 games, which will hamper ranking...

Here are the 18 P5 schools that are pretty much guaranteed to be ranked in the top 25 starting off next season

Clemson
Ohio State
Penn State
Michigan
Wisconsin
Minnesota
Iowa
Oklahoma
Baylor
Oregon
Utah
Georgia
Florida
LSU
Alabama
Auburn
A&M
Notre Dame

So that leaves 7 spots for the rest of P5 and the top G5 schools. I don’t think it would be shocking if Tennessee found itself in the 23-25 range.

Why would it be shocking? It’s not as easy as you think to come up with a preseason top 25. I mean hell Nebraska and Stanford were both ranked in this season’s preseason top 25 and they were both coming off losing seasons in 2018.

Agreed, I don't think it's that far fetched for us to sneak into the top 25. On the other hand, we won't lose much as far as quantity but the impact of our losses are huge. We should definitely have more overall depth tho..

Unranked to start. Ranked after we beat OU. Probably be in and out of the top 25 throughout the season.

I think we are ranked after Charlotte win going into OU.

Preseason rankings are garbage for a team that didn't beat anyone of note in 2019. Our "best" win was against a crazily one dimensional Kentucky. The Kentucky game is a game we should always win. Until we beat someone of note, along with not losing games we shouldn't, we don't belong in the top 25.

I’d really rather there be no hype and be unranked as there is still work to be done and progress made.

We are trending in the right direction but we must improve vastly at the QB position.
