He can't handle my commentary about his BS because he is such a sensitive flake. He feels like he has the right to criticize this and that, and express his opinion, but no one is allowed to question or criticize it. If you do, you make his ignore list, I guess. A real sign of emotional maturity.

So, just to be clear, stating and defending my opinions of the team equals condescension and self-importance, but constantly whining and moaning about things not going exactly like you want it to is justifiable, constructive commentary? Got it. Seems completely fair.đź‘Ť

I haven't read all of his posts, but I think everyone has a right to be critical of a coach. Barnes has done a great job here, but there a couple of things that one might question.

I know this isn't a popular opinion, but there is no way RB is worth what he is making now. From his point of view, he played it perfectly, and got paid.

Is Barnes over paid? Probably.(okay, yes) The alternative of taking a chance on another Bargain Basement hire could have set us back to where we were 4 or 5 years ago. what were the chances of landing another Bruce? I look at the over pay as an admin finally treating our Men's BB program the way most of us have begged it should be for decades. We've invested in the future and from where I'm sitting it looks a lot brighter.

I agree. UT had no choice but to overpay. A lot of UT fans won't look at RB at the same way anymore. They will demand results. Got to go further than a sweet 16 at that salary.

i agree. And post season malfunction is the part of his history that he needs to figure out and correct.

So instead of taking pot shots, try posting your opinions in a form that could be discussed. You might find people that actually agree with you. Human nature dictates pot shot returns a response in kind. Where as if you were to talk about under achievement in post season, you'd find quite a few who are concerned about it.

Exactly. He spends as much time focusing on talking about what other people are saying about him and his opinion as he does complaining about said people. Some irony there, I suppose. That ignore feature works both ways.

Rarely have I found ALL posters to be ALL bad. Never have I used the ignore feature for that reason.

that's pretty funny, i agree. seems to be a loverboy attitude here. love him when he wins, hate him when he trys to move to ucla, now volnation loves him because of the #21 recruiting class. bipolar posters on here. grasping at anything to justify how much barnes really careless about UT. those arent my words per say, he literally said he would leave for more money, then it dried up and he loves us again. a huge raise for a sweet 16 . ACC Schools fire coaches for sweet 16's. we give our coach top 5 money. meanwhile we bargain shop for a football coach. Just looking at the money, who brings in more, football or basketball? humm

So, now we cast the blame of the most recent football coaching search on Barnes, as well. This stuff just gets better with each complaint. It’s Barnes’ fault that we settled on our 11th choice for a football coach.

I think the crux of the matter with Barnes is that his brutal honesty about leaving to go elsewhere tinged an already inflamed nerve with many in the fan base and brought about a rift between several factions. Some say brutal honesty is best and some say don't tell your spouse how bad her new "hairdo" looks. I know what works best for me.

To the poster who said UT was a below average program. Ridiculous. 40th all time in wins out of over 300 Div 1 schools. If not for the Wade Houston/Buzz hires we'd probably be in the mid 30s or higher. UT has issues advancing in the tournament but we aren't some schlep program. It's amazing how long people have kept the Wade/Buzz mentality.

If Barnes adds Victor Bailey the class will rank in the 15-20 range. considering where we've been that sounds pretty good to me. What he's paid? meh
