The Republican party damages itself just fine without Trump. In case you didn't notice, Trump brings out voters who are fed up with the Republican party. Jeb would have lost. Many of us would have stayed home. If Republicans are going to act like Democrats, you might as well let Democrats win. That's the only silver lining of the Trump fiasco. He will damage the republican party for at least a decade.

Finally some truth in a post of yours.
It needs to be burned to the ground.I'm the first to admit I don't fully (or maybe even partially) understand the thinking behind Trump.
I'm currently looking at it like this: It's the middle/old aged white man's equivalent of a riot. They feel unheard, frustrated, left out, like the system no longer works for them; so they will just burn it all to the ground out of frustration and anger.
Rubio and Kasich would have lost. The crossover votes that they would have won would not have made up for the folks who would have stayed home.I can't blame anyone for not voting for Jeb. (he was a joke) Rubio and Kasich were the two I feared because they actually seemed electable from my perspective.
Jeb, Cruz, Carson, and especially Trump all seemed completely undetectable. (shows what I know)

Here is how to make it compute. Rubio and Kasich are essentially no different than Jeb or Hillary. They are all on the same team. Trump represents a chance at change. The others represented 4 more years of Obama or Obama light.I guess you're right. It's just something that I will never be able to wrap my mind around.....that there was a large number of people that would have sat out the election if it were Rubio or Kasich but actually made the effort to vote for Trump. Does not compute.
Concerning your edit, I figured could understand throwing bricks through your neighborhood stores. It is considered "throwing a tantrum," which is what your side has done for the last year and a half.I guess you're right. I never fully understood the logic of throwing bricks through the windows of your neighborhood stores either.

Wonder when these defections of old guard Republicans will start to have a larger effect, especially on the more educated Republicans.
Vote against the GOP this November
The election of Trump was the riot (tantrum).
The response from the left is like the National Guard going in to try and minimize any future damage and start down the long road of recovery.
