2018 Midterm Election Thread

Putting someone on "ignore"; just shows you are not very intelligent. So, you put someone on "ignore" because you disagree with them or they put you in your place. Congratulations.
Ignoring someone that just wants to argue with someone not wanting to argue is just deplorable. He knows what he was trying to do and I'm better off not having to deal with him. He's all yours. He's probably still arguing about the word "only".

😂😂😂 this stupid wench needs to keep running her mouth thru Nov 8!

“I don’t care if US citizens go and fight for the Taliban”. You can’t make this **** up! 🤣

Senate Dem hopeful Kyrsten Sinema said 'I don't care' if people go to fight for Taliban against US
Give me the context. I'm not sure what point she was trying to make. That obviously wasnt her final point. Sounded like she was making a libertarian argument that that was their personal right. Did she follow it up by saying that they also have the right to get shot by a drone?

When I read the article the quote is put above was actually stated by the other person on the radio show not her. I missed that. But her reply was “fine by me”. She did not state that was what she would do. She just indicated she saw no issue with it.

Regardless of rationale behind the statement I would guess joining the Taliban as an active fighter against US forces would meet the near textbook definition of “giving comfort and aid to the enemy”. Disagreeing with a war is one thing. Fine by me. Raising actual arms in combat against US forces is treason.

This is worse in my opinion - confusing bait and switch with switch and bait - get it right lady!

“There’s also, what I think is rather convenient, which is the switch and bait theory, which is, don’t pay attention to the falling economy, don’t pay attention to the tax cuts for wealthy, let’s pay attention to this horrible imminent threat,” she added.

I would say the opposite. The informed voter has seen the leadership of the Dem party, all of whom are certifiable liars and whack jobs, do nothing but act like a bunch of mentally challenged high school girls. The party has been taken over by the dumbest of your constituency, and the following of the new age youth socialist has taken front stage.

The party literally took the one thing that makes America great and said rights don't matter and innocent until proven guilty doesn't exist. Anyone who follows that belief, and that party, well, makes me wonder what type of individual the followers of the party are in real life.
I can sum it for you in one word.... "idiots"

More polls out - more good news for GOP

RCP Senate prediction is now 53 in the Senate for GOP (was 52); House changed a bit with 1 toss up moving to leans Dem and 2 toss ups moving to leans GOP. Avg. predicted gain for Dem is now 24.5 (was 25 yesterday and 31 last month).

I still don't know what message they have. I would settle for the candidates that wants civility. Can't seem to find one on either side.

I would be fine if the Dems. would just quit. Take away the only card the Repubs. have, which is blame Dems.
Civility? Who GAF about that. I want to win. I like winning.

And you are delusional if you think blaming the dems (other than their blatant obstructionism) is what Trump's administration does.

Name one thing they obstructed? I don't think you know what that word means.

Do you try to minimize your taxes?

This is a critique of the the tax laws - what have Dems done to reform tax law?
You mean to tell the the partisan tax plan the Republicans passed didn't address this and in fact made it easier for real estate investors to keep doing the same? You're a Business professor, would you want to enlighten us on what they did to reform this issue?

Hard for Dems to reform tax laws when they control absolutely nothing in the Federal government. GOP had chance to reform tax laws, but my understanding is that for real estate developers and investors (like Jared) they got even more favorable tax treatment. Most polls I've seen show that most working stiffs have not seen any noticable benefit from the tax reforms. So yeah, this won't play well for them. 9 figure millionaires with zero federal tax liability pushing tax laws that create even more benefits for them, while average Joes pay thousands in federal taxes. Not something any sensible GOPer wants to campaign on.

I’m paying a lot less in taxes now.
