Some want to just blame the offense for everything. Last year our offense was very good and our defense was still garbage. Facts are facts. Our defense sucks.

If UT is able to hold each of their last four opponents to fewer than 75 total yards, then D4H is going to look like a genius.

Complete BS. We’re losing the time of possession battle to the time of just over 3 minutes per game this season. That doesn’t explain it. It’s incredibly lazy and, quite honestly, a bit stupid to peddle this as THE reason our defense is so bad.

For example, we had 38:25 of offensive possession compared to Kentucky’s 21:35 last Saturday....meaning, our defense was on the field 17 minutes LESS THAN our offense.....and we still lost the game. Care to explain that one?

If we had an offense with a pulse our defense would be top 15 in the country minimum.

UT has given up 92 points in the 1st half and 102 in the second. A 10 point difference is not glaring. The defense may be getting worn down, but they aren't very good even at full-strength.

Know reality better. BC was one game. Despite it, FSU is still 31st in total defense. Tennessee is 80th.

I actually cringe anytime D4H post any positive hyperbole about our team or players......it normally ends up being the exact opposite irl... Like the kiss of death.

I will say that the defense hasn't played up to my expectations even with a competent offense. But they're not as bad as their ratings. They held up well in the first half against the 2 best teams in the country (Georgia and Alabama). We stuffed their run game early but because of we had no offense we got wore out and run on.

Last year's offense + this year's defense = 10-2 record AT WORST

UT gave up 108 rushing yards in the 1st half vs Bama and 118 to UGA. And that's with sacks taken out.

For reference, Bama has only given up 108 rushing yards over 4 quarters once all season (and most of that was garbage yards vs Colorado St). Georgia has given up more than 118 yards over 4 quarters thrice (also mostly in garbage time).

To say that UT "stuffed the run" in the first half against either is absolute nonsense, though in fairness it's not in the top half of your all-time nonsensical statements.
