2017 NFL Draft Day Thread

yeah i can see that. honestly, i've always kind of thought he was right up there equal with Fournette, talent/skill wise, and maybe a little better speed, and a little better hands.

Yea, can u see Rogers using him as a safety valve or buying time and finding him in open space? Of course, I think Kamara would be a good fit, too. Just not, quite, with the same breakaway speed

There is a time and place for them but that isn't when you're on national tv getting drafted into the NFL carrying the picture of your dead grandmother.

Agreed. And maybe a quick damn or hell, maybe ..... not MF and damn.

oh, if it is a choice between DK or AK, i'm sorry, love me some AK, but i take DK all day.

AK will be a lot like Christian Mcaffery....a darren sproles clone. so versatile, especially coming out of the backfield catching passes.

there's plenty of teams that can get great value in AK in the 2nd round....but with DK still there, it just may be a little later now.

Dear baby Jesus, please let AK drop to us in the 2nd round

It's just really depressing waking up this AM knowing that Adams and Howard could have been Titans.

They drafted for need instead of taking the best player available. Tends to not work out, but we'll see. Kiper didn't really like the Titans draft either.

Both of the Titans' picks were reaches on my board. Wide receiver Corey Davis is my 16th-ranked prospect, and Tennessee took him at No. 5. Cornerback Adoree' Jackson is my 30th-ranked player, and Tennessee got him at No. 18. Were there no takers to trade down? Look, I like both of these players, but the value isn't there. Davis wasn't at the combine because of an ankle injury, and we still don't know his true top-end speed. That's a roll of the dice. At his best, he could be a No. 1 wideout for Marcus Mariota, lining up outside and in the slot, and he's great after the catch. As for Jackson, Kevin King was higher on my board, and No. 18 is high for a raw, undersized (5-10, 186) corner who might have to play in the slot as a rookie. He's talented, but he must improve his technique. Now, I should give Tennessee credit for addressing needs. But remember, the Titans don't have a second-round pick because of last year's trade up to get Jack Conklin. They have to hit on Davis and Jackson.

Meh. I remember when the Panthers "reached" for Kelvin Benjamin instead of taking the "best player available" in Marqise Lee. Or the Titans "reaching" for Conklin, who was an All-Pro as a rookie, over Tunsil. Disagreeing with Kiper doesn't mean Kiper is correct

What?!?!?!?! Is that how real life works???

Some reaches work out, some don't, but its usually better to go with talent than need. Time will tell.

I'm saying that for all we know, Davis is more talented. People saying he's definitely not are mostly taking Kiper's word for it

I have no issue with Davis (I think he'll be a good WR), but I just think taking him at 5 is high. Especially with the secondary being a bigger need IMO and one of the best players period still available.

The issue with Davis isn't over talent... He's got plenty of it. I jury concerns were the only issues that could have made him drop. Great pick for the Titans IMO.

I know the talent is there, it's more about just taking a WR that high in general. Especially with the secondary needs and Adams there for the taking.

Yeah, I really thought they would go with Adams or Lattimore, but they really need help at WR and give Mariota more weapons.

Cleveland needs someone who can start right away. There isn't a QB in this draft......especially now that could do that. They either gonna ride it out with Kessler and take Dobbs at 52 or 65, or work something for JG or Cousins IMO. Josh Dobbs still has a chance to be taken in the 2nd round, which is higher than most believed.

Yes, well you are talking to the guy that was screaming at everyone as loud as he could to take a QB or trade the one pick but that's all besides the point now. If we get Dobb's he will change the Browns. This year Prescott IMO. Cleveland radio is losing their minds that they passed on Watson this morning.

"Value" in this context is such a subjective thing. If you love a player who fits/satisfies what your team needs, why would you arbitrarily wait to get him at 15 rather than 5 or at 30 rather than 18? At the end of the day, nobody's gonna care about "value" if both Davis and Jackson come in, play well and do just what Robinson hopes and believes they'll be.

here's some spots qb's could be taken tonight in the 2nd round....NYJ at 39, LAC at 38, AZ at 45, CLE at 52, CAR at 64(they have a pick at 40 too, and could pull the trigger here on qb project)....

They way teams reached in the 1st, I have little doubt that every draft eligible QB will be taken by the end of the 2nd round lol

So, you're saying he's an NFL player

That's normal behavior on the field before/during/after a game. Not normal or acceptable behavior after just getting hired by a multi multi million dollar organization on national television. I'm sure the first words he heard when he touched down in Atlanta were "Hi I'm Arthur Blank, and this is our public relations director."
