2017 Loaded! Starters by position.....

Jennings isn't gonna move. Tyler Byrd might only because you can replace his speed on offense with Latrell Williams. But Jennings is our best WR. He isn't going to defense

Doug Matthews made a good point on Jennings moving to safety. He only gets a few touches on offense each game, but would be much more involved at safety.

At least there won't be much expectation for the Vols in 2017 after losing Kamara, Barnett, Sutton, Vereen, Dobbs, Maybin and possibly Malone

Dobbs, Barnett, Sutton and Kamara won't be able to be replaced and Tuttle could be done with football

Is a 4-5 win season just around the corner for Butch Jones and team 121, I wouldn't be at all surprised

2017 Starters

QB - Jarrett Guarantano
RB - John Kelly (Alvin Kamara if no draft)
WR - Josh Malone
WR - Marquez Callaway
WR - Josh Smith
TE - Ethan Wolf
LT - Brett Kendrick*
LG - Venzell Boulware* or Jashon Robertson*
C - Coleman Thomas
RG - Jack Jones*
RT - Chance Hall*
* Hard to tell who will start where because they have all been moved around and have tons of experience at multiple positions (group played well considering)

DE - Kyle Phillips moves back outside
DT - Shy Tuttle
DT - Kahlil McKenzie
DE - Alexis Johnson or Darrell Taylor
** There will be great depth along the DL provided no injuries
OLB - Todd Kelly Jr (Weak Side)
MLB - Darrin Kirkland Jr
OLB - Quart'e Sapp or Ja'Quain Blakely (Strong Side)
LCB - Baylen Buchanan
SS - Nigel Warrior
FS - Jauan Jennings
RCB - Tyler Byrd

N-B - Rashaan Gaulden (2 LB sets)

P - Trevor Daniel
PK - Aaron Medley

Just no. Jennings is a WR

Sorry, preseason champions isn't happening this year. I personally will go into the year much more cautiously from now on

What constitutes "great depth" on DL? Tuttle and McKenzie injured this year and another booted. We need more DTs plain and simple, and losing a 4 star yesterday via decommoitment hurt. We need to recruit DTs that play this position in high school instead of trying to convert 250lb DEs into DTs. I would like to see Byrd play defense and still be return man on kicks. Leave Jennings as a receiver. He has made an impact on offense.

Jennings is our second best WR. He'll only be our best WR next year if Malone declares early for the NFL and forgoes his senior season.

We don't have a bruiser runningback. I don't like that..

I hear you, I'd like to have a power runner as well....but our last one only averaged 3.7 ypc this year. I'll take a guy like Kelly who hits the hole quicker and then runs angry as hell refusing to go down. And then if Chandler makes it in, we'll have two very talented guys with breakaway ability.

Wise words, wise approach. And we can kiss getting picked to win the East at Media Days good-bye as well. Absolutely no one should pick Tennessee to win the East next year and I don't think anyone should. I'd be willing to bet we get picked 3rd behind Florida and Georgia.

You all do realize that Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Penn State and many others recruited Jennings to play safety

He came to UT because they gave him a chance at QB, where he initially wanted to play. He got that chance in camp.

He was moved to WR though to get the ball in his hands. He has stated many times that he will do whatever is best for the team.

He should have been moved to safety back in camp.

This coming year, he will make the move......

If he was safety in 2016, we would have had two more losses:

1. No Hail Mary catch vs. Georgia

2. No bobbled catch vs Florida that ended up being a TD and breathed life back in this teamthat day.

He may switch to safety, but he is a game-changer at WR.

Looks impressive, until you consider who's going to be at the helm of the "USS Unstoppable"...

CBJ is 14-18 SEC, 3-13 Top 25, 0-4 Bama, 1-3 UF, and 2-2 UGA, Mizzou, and Vandy.

I'm gonna hold off on those hotel reservations in Atlanta for now.

Go Vols.

We seem to play the underdog role better anyway - so I'm fine with this :)

But in reality we are gong to be a deeper team overall. Several players red-shirted this year. While QB is unproven I think JG is the real deal and the offense will be tough. The key is if we can get our injured starts back not only healthy but stronger and more prepared before next fall. While I don't want to be favored and don't think we should be favored, I think we have the potential and talent to win the east next year. I think UF will be favored and either us or uga will be second, again it doesn't matter who is picked anyway it almost never ends up like what is picked at media days anyway most of the time. GBO!

Please be mindful of recruits reading this site. We wouldn't want them to know we really run the program and decide who starts and who plays where.
