2016 Game by Game Score Predictions

With the way Butch coaches he will try to burn clock the second we are up by 2 scores. That is why everyone dreaded being up by 2 scores, it meant Butch thought we had enough points to go conservative and just grind out a win. A lot of our blowouts last year happened due to kick or punt returns after we were already leading and had taken the foot off the gas.

I bet D4H took that into account or he would've said 127-0 on all the games. Not going for the kill when up a couple scores is why he only has them scoring in the 60's.

This was a fun read for me on a Monday....

Looks like we'll have no problems this year, friends! Heck, we should have the SEC and Nat'l Championships well in hand by the 4th Qtr.

For some reason I feel like I saw a game recently where the Vols were winning by 13 in the 4th and still lost.....I'm sure I'm just remembering it wrong, though.

Most of our team leaders and best players are from Georgia. I'm sure guys like Dobbs and Cam who didn't get offers from their home state school have that game circled moreso than Florida.

Florida is big for Tennessee fans. Georgia is bigger from a lot of our players.

I expect zero letdown.

If you don't think the Florida game is absolutely huge for our players and to our players, you are more clueless than I originally thought.

Phil Steele has UT favored in 11 out of 12 games-- a double-digit favorite in 9 of them, including a two-touchdown favorite over UF. He has us a 3-point dog to the #1 team in the country. That's right in line with Vegas, which is also bullish on the Vols.

Team 120 has senior leadership, talent and experience. If you're a UT fan and that doesn't make you like our chances, then IDK what will.

Sep. 1 vs Appalachian State 61-14 (W)

Sep. 10 vs Virginia Tech 45-17 (W)

Sep. 17 vs Ohio 38-7 (W)

Sep. 24 vs Florida 41-21 the Florida game has never been this lopsided outside of the Tebow years

Oct. 1 at Georgia 27-0 Georgia is in transition but they won't lay an egg at home.

Oct. 8 at Texas A&M 30-7) on the road, the crowd noise, after a tough game with Georgia. They'll get more than 7. Could very easily be a loss.

Oct. 15 vs Alabama 27-24 for us to win it we have to get creative in the passing game. They'll key on Dobbs, Hurd, and Kamara. Hurd won't run for anything close to 100 yds. Alabama wins this one.

Oct. 29 at South Carolina 49-10 A desperate hire, and lack of talent bite Carolina here. I'm not sure they score 10

Nov. 5 vs Tennessee Tech 66-0

Nov. 12 vs Kentucky 59-0

Nov. 19 vs Missouri 52-6

Nov. 26 at Vanderbilt 65-7 I'll give the points to the wildcats before vandy.

Dec. 3 vs Alabama (SEC Championship) 48-27 the only way we score that much against Saban is if they don't care ( Utah). They will and it will could be the game of the year.

Dec. 31 vs Ohio State (CFP Peach Bowl) 34-20
What a way to get some revenge. Send Urban home early on the door step of the NC.

]Jan. 9 vs Florida State (CFP Championship)[/b] 37-24 I like this score. Simply because I think Jimbo is a massive underachiever. They should be a juggernaut now and they aren't.

You forgot we ended the streak against Georgia.
Florida just keeps winning....

I think it ends this year. Butch learned his lesson. Never ever let the outcome be in question in the 4th quarter. Pour on the gas!

He didn't say anything about Georgia one way or the other.

I respect how D4H approaches his UT fandom. Whats the fun of being a fan when you expect mediocrity? No one will care next year if you were the guy who predicted we would lose to A&M or UGA we will all just be mad and point out reasons we should have won.

The people who have low expectations this year and are predicting losses are the the same people who look back last year and say we should have beaten FL, ARK, OU for A, B, C reason. It's just a vicious cycle you put yourselves in.

Releax, forget about last year, and look forward to this year. We have a great team! I expect to win every game this year until something happens that could change that ie injuries, suspensions, etc...

Stop being negative Nancys.

Auburn's 4 year recruiting average is higher than Clemson. So on paper they're the more talented team. The game is at Jordan-Hare. This will be the first time Clemson will see Auburn's new QB John Franklin III. He fits Malzahn's scheme moreso than the guys they had playing QB last year. Clemson has to replace half their defense.

Remember at this time last year Auburn was the presumptive SEC champ and Clemson was the team with lots of question marks.

College football has a way of turning things on their head from one season to the next.

Could Auburn pull off the upset? Sure, its at Auburn & they have some talent indeed but I think Clemson has a little better team. Plus, they have a weapon like we have in Dobbs & his name is Deshaun Watson. I don't think Auburn can stop him running or passing.

Edit: BTW, D4H are you forgetting that WR Mike Williams is back for Clemson after an injured season? He could be the top WR in the country if he's fully recovered.

We averaged 35 ppg without a downfield passing game last year.

Why is averaging 45 ppg in 2016 considered extreme?

With an improved passing game we'll easily improve our scoring average by an extra TD and FG each game.

Let me say what my average stats say by my predictions for both sides of the ball.

With my predictions I have us averaging 38.14pts/game on offense. On defense, I have us giving up 15.93pts/game. I think the 15.93 might be just a point or two too high for our defense. I think the 38.14 is going to be pretty close for our offense.

Maybe a couple of points too low if all of our weapons show & play like they're supposed to play. Our defense I think will end up being the best in the SEC & not Bama so that's why I say my 15.93pts/game might be too high. I can see us being much lower towards the 12-13 pts/game average. Thanks!

I didn't................and wtf does that have to do with the Florida game being one of the most important to the players?

Most on here predict 11-1 or 10-2 with a SECCG appearance. That's being a "negative Nancy"?

UGA will be close 24 to 21 TYPE game and I wouldn't count out VT with 180,000 fans they will come to play I see it as 20 to 13 late 4th q with Tennessee wearing down vt. Late in the game 27 to 16 vols

You're a little more optimistic than me D4H but I'm not far away from you.

Sep. 1 vs Appalachian State 41-16 (W)

Sep. 10 vs Virginia Tech 45-20 (W)

Sep. 17 vs Ohio 48-10 (W)

Sep. 24 vs Florida 34-13(W)

Oct. 1 at Georgia 30-16(W)

Oct. 8 at Texas A&M 30-31(L)

Oct. 15 vs Alabama 20-17(W)

Oct. 29 at South Carolina 52-14(W)

Nov. 5 vs Tennessee Tech 55-6(W)

Nov. 12 vs Kentucky 48-13(W)

Nov. 19 vs Missouri 37-10(W)

Nov. 26 at Vanderbilt 44-14(W)

Dec. 3 vs LSU (SEC Championship) 27-17(W)

Dec. 31 vs Clemson(CFP Peach Bowl) 23-26(L)

12-2 overall record. Making the 4 team playoff would be a great accomplishment. I would like for us to win it all too but facing a team like Clemson or Ohio State would be too tough I think. Can we beat either of those teams?

Yes, but I think we fall short. We get the right matchup in the 4 team playoff & get 3 other teams in that a couple that weren't expected then look at. We could win it all afterall. GO VOLS!

I'm good with this but get outta here with that loss to Clemson!
